Question on 1/8 scale tires for Slash.

What parts do I need to have to run them? And how would I install them?

This is a pretty simple mod. You need a set of 17mm adapters, I recommend AKA or traxxas. Installation is pretty straightforward, and use blue loctite to secure. Then get a set of 1/8 buggy tires or go big with Truggies tires.

I get my buggy tires from suprasales on eBay.

The buggy tires are a little taller than the stock slash tires, and you get a huge selection for cheap.

I think they look great on a slash.

Not to mention the surprising performance boost 1/8 buggy wheels/tires can offer.
Yes, I drive an electric converted Nitro Hawk.

You want 17mm adapters for Slash. The others will all be for 6mm axles. I prefer the AKAs.

I got mine from toadzrc. Get the 17mm AKA adapters for slash 2wd which will fit the slash, Pede and rustler. You'll get a set of 4 adapters, the longer pair go on the front. Use blue loctite to hold the threaded parts in place or they'll go flying off at the end of a long run, or thats how it happens with me. Next you'll need a set of 17mm wheels/tires.

I prefer aka hubs because you can easily get spare parts for them.

I'm on my phone so I can't copy the link.

Well well well it can be done, thanks dread. Lol

I figured someone with a little more knowledge could do it.

OP, the second link is the rears for your slash, you'll want the complete set of 4 and you'll be golden.

Can you tell me where would I see an increase in performance? speed? clearance?
Do you have to trim the body or get the taller tower thingy to raise the body?
    Thanks

    They look kewl
    tires are cheap
you can run big 'ol Truggy tires if you want
buggy tires are a little taller than the stock slash tire so a little more ground clearance
and it's different than what the other guys run.

You won't need to trim much at all, maybe 1/4" if any.

You don't need to raise the body for this mod.

There is a huge selection of tires available and once you put a set on your truck you'll see how sharp they look.

Dang it, I guess I need to check them out LOL
    Thanks!

Btw are there any bed lock style 1/8 wheel? It is sweet not having to glue/unglue/clean and just snap some tires in 5 minutes..

I have another question, will any 17mm hubs fit on my slash? Cause I looked on Ebay and I found some that are pretty cheap and I dunno if they will fit it.

They have to fit the axle size, and if you want them to be equal width front to back, need the ones that have 2 different offsets (fronts alittle longer).
