Stock wheels are about 4.3" high. Depends on what kind of buggy wheels you run. I would say about .25-.5" higher. Problem with taller wheels is you raise your cg. Not good for a slash that already has a high cg. The pro is....they look cool! ; )

The pros are that they are lighter, cheaper, more choicee, lower sidewall and they dont balloon as much at high speeds.

They are a little bigger but I see this as a plus. If you lower it to stock height or lower, you will effectively increase the wheel travel because the bigger tire goes in further before it bottoms out and when riding over rough terrain or take jumps you have more extension (due to more droop). In my opinion this is the biggest plus of running buggy tires/wheels, especially of you modify your shocks for this set up, I found that 60wt up fron with 50wt in the rear with linear springs (from a ruslter) with a good amount of sag takes the truck to the next level.

As for 17mm wheels, they are all about the same. Personally I hate the look of dish wheels so I go with a spoke design. Just look up surpasales on ebay and buy a full set of mounted tires and wheels (4) for $16 and be done with it, I usually get a few sets at a time to save on shipping and drive them into the ground and throw them away when they wear out. So far I've gotten 4 sets and havent worn them out.

If you are serious into racing you might want to look at what is being run at your track.

I don't have any solid footage yet. Had to send my MIp 17 mm adapters into mip for some modifying. As soon as I get them back I'll post some. They did grip the dirt really well when I did test them out.
