    Worlds loudest boat

I know I've been starting a lot of threads lately... but I had to share this. This is my boat (24' Jaws Lorequin race boat) with the new stereo I put in. It's not even half way turned up... and with the amp and speakers I'm using... I can turn it all the way up with NO distortion (except the pain in your ears). They are Paradigm speakers hooked to a Zapco Competition amp (2 ohms [bridged]) and a cheap Clarion head unit. Just to give you an idea of how much power the amp is drawing... it requires 4 gauge wire!

Glad it's on a speed boat... Don't think you'd catch much fish with that on.... OK Maybe a Rockfish or 2 ...

Sounds good.... Don't forget the alternator,,,, make sure you not slowly killing it by drawing too many amps... Last thing you wanna be is dead on the water....

It's never going to be on while the alternator is spinning because for the alternator to be turning, the engine has to be running. The sound of 900 horsepower will drown out those speakers any day . The boat is wired so that you can run everything off just one battery, so even if you drain that one all the way down, the second one can still start the engine. It does draw some power though.

Definitely! haha. If I break down or run out of battery power, I can finally make use of the BoatUS membership I got! It will happen eventually...

It doesn't need to be that loud, but a good amp and speakers sound better (what I care about) and can go louder (I don't really care about volume) than no amp or a bad amp and bad speakers. Here is a link to a picture of what we do every weekend.

About 50-100 boats gather in a cove. Everybody ties their boats together and anchors their boats, gets in the water, drinks cold beverages, and everybody just hangs out. Background music is a nice touch lol.

Oh if you get a set of those Nathan airchime K5LA's you'll use them all the time. They are about 150db's if setup correctly. They sell kits at hornblasters.com. I have a set of their conductor series Buell horns on my truck, their old 1 1/2 gallon set. They are getting weak though I may upgrade to the K3LA set since I have limited space on my truck. It's my only hope against negligent drivers on the road lol.

The ones I have are little cheap ones from Harbor Freight. They were advertised at 130db or something but it's the same loudness as your average can style air horn

Stock horns are very ineffective. Especially if the person you are honking them at is on the highway with the windows rolled up, air conditioning on, radio going, they barely hear it.

They will hear the 150db blast of a Nathan K5 or K3 even the Buell horns I have will make them have to change their shorts.

No. It's called Lloyds creek on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Never been to LOTO but I've always wanted to go for the LOTO shootout.

It's actually dry exhaust. The water and exhaust never mix. It's got a water jacket but the jacket continues all the way to the very tip making it even crisper and louder
