I used rc speed calculator and my aprox speed with a 3 cell lipo would be 83.81 mph and that only going lipo. But its probably near 65mph. Hopefully I can get it to my 75 moh goal

Okay... Guess I'm forced to buy a new body... My other one got trashed in a crash... So what body's are durable and what are good paints. I dont have an airbrush so stay cans only. Pactra? And are there pretrimed body's. One more question lol.... Should I use masking tape like parmas or what's best?

You should get one of those body's that is the same as the stock traxxas one but paint it monster energy style.

Any body is durable with shoogoo and nylon drywall tape. Especially if you know the weak points are before hand...

proline bodies are thicker than stock, thicker means more durable usually. i dont know how thick or durable jconcept bodies are yet since i have yet to run one but even my proline body has a few cracks and tears from one good hard bashing session where i was flipping, and barrel rolling alot due to the ramp mostly. i did notice that my paint was chipping and wearing through in spots as well from one run session which sucks but oh well. i used rattle can pactra paint as well. i think it gets the job done but you get much better results with airbrushing. ive yet to do it but i also picked up some drywall tape and shoe goo to reinforce the body.

I did get my body yesturday before I saw your replies... I got a proline pro-2 Chevy 1500 body and I'm painting it with Pactra fluorescent green and Pactra fiery orange. My windows are going to be black and I will back it with white. the person at the hobby store said 1 thing of masking tape will work and I already used up one... Have to go back today... If I can

I very lightly scuff the body right before painting. Not one of them has had chipped paint off if I scuff it. I dont think airbrushing has anything to do with it, as I have had professionally airbrushed bodies paint chip off. I think its all in the prep.

Kdvanb: it will depend on how heavy the coats are. If you can go very light, your time between coats will be exponentially less than if you lay it on thick and heavy. The safe answer is to wait until you think its safe, then wait some more, and then check to see if the last coat is tacky.

If you are in a humid climate, it is gonna take longer for the paint to dry. My best personal paintjob ever, I waited forever between light coats, the masking did not bleed anywhere.

If its humid, a half hour may not be enough if the coat was laid on thick. Dont be in a hurry when painting.

It was but only at the rear on the masking so I put my 2nd coat on. Also when switching colors do you need to back the colour you just did with white or no

Watching that vid, that guy is applying way too much tape and goo. You dont need that much. For a repair, use the tape and goo within a 1/2" of the crack. If you are preempting a crack on a known weakness of a certain body, you may not even need the drywall tape. I just coat the body holes about a 1/4" around with the goo and it never fails. I only use the tape for an existing crack repair. Let the shoogoo dry for at least 24 hrs before using the body again. also make sure the area is clean and scuffed before the application. I am looking at the 10 min mark in the vid, and 90% of that drywall tape is in an unnecessary spot. Most cracks occur at corners of the body. any drywall tape and goo on flat portions is unnecessary and adding a ton of weight way up high.

looks pretty good so far man, one thing maybe to note is that you will not have enough of any color more than likely to do a second body. so if you ever plan you use the colors on another body better buy another can before you even start. i found out the hardway on all 3 colors!

i used that very same flourecent green on my body and it didnt splotch up any. the key is to use light coats is all. and make sure you shake very well before painting as well. also the very end of all spray paint cans does not come out as well as the rest either so its best to just start over with a new can if you start to run low.

Okay I need help. When trimming proline bodies can you cut to when the body is and tear off the excess lexan. Example I cut down to the front bumper and push the lexan right which creates a force that tears the lexan along the body. It just comes Off with ease. Does that give you a good image. So my question is does proline make the body for simple trimming as that above ?

    Thanks,
    Kyle

I've never had that happen. Maybe the lexan got thin along the crease.

Probably not because if it tore upwards it would tear your body
