My be-lated birthday present came today!!

My birthday is in May... so it's a very be-lated birthday from my father.
Anyways... about 3-4 days ago I ordered an SPC lipo battery, and today it came in

It's going into a 2wd pede.. so I had to dremel out the battery tray to make it longer in order for it to fit. Once I did that the battery fits with no worries. I will post pictures tomorrow of the battery tray and the battery in it, IF I can find the camera and a USB cord. Haven't ran it yet but I changed the gearing from 17/86 to 19/90 hoping to get some more speed out of it.. I don't want to run 19/86. Also I know this will be giving me a little more torque..but thank Traxxas for a wheelie bar!!

    What ya think??

SPC Lipos are Awesome.Ilove them.I ran the SPC 2S 5400 50c in my 2x4 pede.I got about a good 40 min. of bash time.As long you are not on the throttle heavy all the time.
I also had to remove those small ribs in the battery try.Easy job.I had the CC 3800 SCT Combo with 19/90 grearing.Plent of speed and low temps.Yes the wheelie bar will see plent of use. Oh ya happy b-day

Nice.. why didn't it fit? Is it a big 3s that you ordered?

On my Rusty I had to remove the small ribs at the end of the battery compartment because it was a little tight, but that was it.

O.G Same kind of idea with the Pede battery tray. The pede try has a few of them.

It is a 2S, 25C, 7.4 5000MAH. And it didn't fit because the battery was a tad too long so, I dremeled the ribs out as you did and BAM it fits like a charm!! Only my pede was an XL-5 to a VXL and where the ESC and Receiver go on that black top (above the battery tray) well, the battery is a little too tall so it doesn't slide back all the but that's fine with me. Instead of using the battery bar to hold it down, I use some velcro, which works.
I will take pictures tomorrow for sure, just not sure if I will be home long enough to look and find the USB cord for the camera. But I WILL get them posted so you have a better understanding of what I am talking about.

You can use washers to raise the esc platform to fit over the battery so you can use it.

Charged the battery for the very first time today and my front wheels are finnal of the ground once again!!!
But I do have a couple of questions,
1st when done charging the MAH on the charger reads 2000 something. Is this normal because it was in storage mode?
2nd: after how many runs does it take for ANY lipo to wake up?
And I was amazed that after charging the battery was cool and after I was finished done running it was still the same temperature... I wasn't using a temp gun just to the tough of my hand.
    Just an update.

It dose take a few cycles to brake a lipo in.As far as the mah thing what is the total mah s in your pack.Your charger read 2000mah.You are right it was in storage charger.Run to you cutt off then see how much you use.Lipos are great.Store them at 3.80 or close to it.If you do not plan on using it for more than a day or so.IMO

Use any kind of small washer or spacer. You don't need much to clear the 3s battery.

I used spacers from my LHS, but I don't remember if they were a traxxas part.

O.G: I had some body washers but those were too big and didn't give me enough lift. So I went through all of my miscellaneous bolts, screws and nut and found some nuts that were in a package. I put them on top of the holes and then found some longer screws that would fit into the holes of the chassis and they fit. So now my battery will slide all the way to the back of the battery tray once again. Since I dremeled the front of the battery tray out I now have about 2 fingers width of open space in the battery tray. might have to get a block of wood or something like that and put in it so the battery will not slide around and get damaged.
P.S: I am not sure of the size of nut i used but they are just big enough to fit over the hole and NOT rub on another nut close by.
