I got my Spartan back up and running today with the Jeff Wohlt .150 shaft, Aeromarine 3 piece coupler, and new stuffing tube. It's running great.
It was starting to get dark out but I wanted to test out my new Thunder Power lipo's (5000mah 3s 65c). I was blown away with these lipo's... they are much more responsive than my ********'s and dare I say... they may even be a little peppier than the 100c Max Amps that I also have. I could hardly control the boat in the small pond behind my house with the Thunder Power lipo's. It clocked 48mph on my GPS in literally no time whatsoever on the stock prop.
On my last run, I noticed what looked like a flash of round light inside of the hull (on the top hatch right above the ESC). I was freaked out so I immediately brought the boat into shore, removed the top hatch, and unplugged the lipo's. Everything was fine... temps were fine... no issues at all.
The ONLY other thing I could think would my phone (GPS) popped up and screen light was shown through the hull cover. But the light I saw was small and circular... not rectangular and it was closer to the ESC whereas the phone was in front of the motor in a double zip lock bag with air, lol.
Was I seeing things? This is the first time I've ran the boat at dusk so I'm not sure if that allowed me to see something that I typically would not in daylight. Any clues on what this would have been if it was in fact some sort of spark?
