    Dog ate my camera....

My friends puppy(mega police dog pup) got a hold of my canon powershot a 480. Cracked the screen. Everything still works, just the screen is cracked, and can only see about 40% of it. Is there a place I can find a replacement screen? Took the cam apart and removed the screen and put it back in so I know I can fix it if I can find a replacement. Thanks for any help as I cannot afford a new cam.

I have replaced the screen on my Sony camera. The screen is available online.

You just saved $$$$ for replacing the screen yourself. I was qouted $80.00 plus parts and labor at a local camera shop. Spend the money saved, on upgrades!
    You can also check FleeBay.

I had an old Cannon years ago that would turn on, but the zoom was messed up (sounded like stripped gears inside) and the LCD was broken. Picked it up for $5 at a yard sale. I went on eBay and found one that wouldn't power up and bought it for $10. Swapped the LCD and lens assembly over, and bam, had a $200 camera for $15 still have it to this day, I just find myself using my phone more often that it. It's too cumbersome to carry a camera around nowadays when my phone has an 8mp camera and shoots 720p video

Got my screen, replaced it, and...

My cam no longer works. It will not turn on.

Dont know what could have happened as it is a simple swap and everything went smooth.

UGH need a new cam now, and am out $20, and a working (but screen cracked) camera. UGH

You guys made me lol. Thank you, as I feel a little better now about the situation.

Firefox has an addon that lets you right click and upload any image to photobucket. I stole it from a post somewhere on one of the forums.
So, I'm in the market for a new cam. The powershot was easy to use and performed well. Any suggestions? I may look for the same one, but wondering if there is something just as good for a little cheaper?

    well i found this:
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0075SUIEI/..._df_B0075SUIEI

16mp and 5x power zoom. The 480 was 10mp and 3.5 zoom, for about 50$ more. Unless anyone has anything negative to say about the 1300 linked above, I think that is what I will get...
