Lightbulb Spent £10 on idler gears- shall I get Robinsion Racing Upgrade?

I posted a thread about a week ago about my idler gears stripping. I replace the bearings and gears and it lasted for 3 runs. It started making a clicking noise, but still worked. It got worse then effected the performance a bit so I split the gearbox and found the idler gear was missing a tooth. I'm going to buy a new idler gear next monday, I might get the Robinson Racing hardened idler gear (http://www.ebay.com/itm/400307081900...84.m1423.l2648). But is the Robinson worth the money?
I checked also over my diff gear and found their was quite a bit of wear, up and down movement and side to side. I think that is the source of the problem and that's what made my bearings wear(in previous threads). Could the diff gear be all

    Thanks

It just happened to me again yesterday, that's two. My fault is that I use 3s on a tight slipper clutch. Okay rag6 , I will be opening it up and cleaning everything to make sure there's no debris. What would the correct diff lube be?

For inside the diff, I would use 1:1 wheel bearing grease.

I have used 3s, locked slippers, and basically beat the living snot out my idlers and have not had a problem, the 3 I own, have had for years. Either there is a quality control issue for the current steel gears, or there is misalignment because of loose or defective bearings, or the gearbox is warped, or worn at the bearing holders.

Everything rag6 just said. My custom truck weighs 9lbs RTR runs on 3S/4S and a Tekin T8, and still uses the factory steel idler. I've never broken one.

1.1" is much bigger than a traxxas idler. More like 14mm(just a guess) inner diameter cant possibly be right as it uses 5x11 bearings... Are those Tower's listed specs? They have been known to be useless at times...
