Light Bar - Any options for easier body removal?

    Hey Guys,

Just installed the Summit Light Bar - which is awesome - super bright, and worth every penny.

I have everything installed neatly, but my only complaint is how much of a pain it is to lift the body and disconnect the wire from the Light Bar to the Y Harness. Besides just getting a longer male/female wire, has anyone come up with an optional connector?

Im really worried that my son is going to forget about that wire connected, and yank the body off, and pull that wire out and/or break it... Is there a magnet or quick release option for something like this?

    Thanks,
    Mayor VXL

That's really the only reason why I haven't purchased that piece ---- looks and performs great, but kind of a pain

I'll do some brain storming on this one

I attempted the washer on the body mount mod. I had trouble getting it to work with the stock Summit body. The thickness of the body combined with the exo-cage did not leave me enough space for washers or lugs. It appears to work well with an aftermarket body. I must admit that I gave up pretty quickly. Maybe someone will post a solution. One day I'll think it through again

Jimmie Neutron made metal washers on the body posts and body to connect the roof light bar. Check out post #141.

I had the same issue, so I spent $5 on a center light harness to use simply as a extention cord.

Now, when I remove my body with the lights attached. I can put the body down beside the truck, I will cable slack to spare.

Is this the part I need?

I would like to get one as well to provide extra slack and I would like to install an extra set of LED's as well that point down at the ground for extra light for night crawling.

    Thanks

this is how I did my light bar on my original summit build - "Pit Bull"

and the lights simply attach and come on whenever you put the top on.

You will have to do a bit of cutting and rewiting to achieve the proper power flow
