    Best brushed motor

I don't have the money to go brushless in the way I want to so I am looking for the best most durable brushed motor that will fit in the traxxas slash with the main concern being longevity. I burned by my second motor in a week!

The "best brushed motor" is long gone. Your options are very limited nowadays since there is no demand for brushed motors. Maybe you can find a good hand wound mod motor on ebay or an r/c forum, but your choices for new brushed motors are pretty much limited to the new Speed Gems series and the Orion Method R series motors. They're machine wound motors, but they will still give you very good performance compared to the Titan.

Look for anything rebuildable so you can just keep throwing brushes at it. Anything without that is throwing money away that you could be buying a brushless with also there is brushless kits out there for 60$ leopard is the brand.

I am running a 20T 540 brushed in my sons pede/digger truck. Was able to keep near stock gearing with it. They are tough to find, but try amainhobbies, toadzrc, and maybe tower. Tower has em buried on the site and tough to search for.

got a 20 turn dynamite in my 2wd slash,...20 dollar motor(canada) and works great...ppl who have never seen
"hobby" grade rcs near me cant believe there eyes when they see the slash go.as far as i know it is a readily availble
motor(dont know for sure) but my lhs keeps all kinds of the 19t and 20t instock...also not sure if they are discontinued yet (likely are) but i had a brand new chameleon 19t mod motor sittin in a box brand new that i forgot about, my little brothers titan burnt out so i threw it in his xl5 rustler and it to is a very decnt motor...plenty of speed on stock gearing and great acceleration for bashing

That chameleon should be more then decent. That a extremely powerful 19t motor. I personally prefer high amp drawing outlaw 27t lol.

Newbie here, so would the ESC need t be changed from the XL5? The VXL ESC handles the Velineon but will the XL5 handle a non psycho brushless? I like waterprrof and my sons have brushed Slashs. A little more power would be nice but I don't want to lose water resistance nor spend a ton.

I thought as much. I'm mixed on the leopard system - cheap and I'm not sure if I can even get them in Canada. My sons just want a little more power for bashing around. I have a VXL Stampede 4x4 but they run brushed Slashs. Power is a little light.
I have heard mixed reviews on Leopard and I still would like water resistance as we like to run when it's a little damp or snowy out.
    Suggestions?

I agree. Sad thing is the technology was getting very close to be amazing.

Probably the best stock motor you can get.
That race prep can eat any 17.5t stock motor for breakfast and the MVP is no weaking...these are very powerful stocks. Some kid had a MVP in a Rustler back in the day and everyone thought he was cheaping b/c he was running laps faster then 19t. Nothing was tamper just he had it tuned!!! I can drop a tuned stock and people will ask if that thing is nitro.
