ESC Timing - an explanation would be highly appreciated!

    Hello,

I got myself a new hobbywing Xerun 150a Esc with hobbywing 2200kv motor for my erevo.

I do not understand from the notice exactly what the timing setting represents.

Apparently it needs to be adjusted for each specific motor, and it will have an impact on the way the motor performs, but my understanding does not go further than that.

    Could anyone help?

    Thanks already!

From what i understand about timing it effects temps, rpm and overall power.

Higher timing will generally give more rpm at the expense of heat.
Lower timing will loose some rpm but generate less heat.

Not too sure on the changes in torque and such.

I believe the more timing the hotter everything gets and less run time but will give more RPM speed / lower timing more run time less battery draw and will decrease power but if you are running a Mamba monster system losing power is no problem
