    Summit Glitches...

So my new summit came in today. I've been around RC for some time now but strictly nitro. This is my first electric.

The summit is brand new and I am using freshly charged stock and 5000 mah batteries. (NiMH)

So after running about ten minutes (in the house) it starts glitching and it seems to shut itself off. At this point it won't move at all. I can still hear a quiet hum but the green led on the Esc is off.

This is the older version TQ 2.4 without LVD.

I put new batteries in the transmitter but I'm on my way to the store now to get BRAND NEW ones. I don't think this will matter much but worth a try.

    Any input would be great.
    Thanks Dan

Also after driving a little more the steering servos seem weak and and the driving/tail lights blink on and off. Is this normal?

    Thanks again

That my friend sounds like a bad steering servo.
To find out which one remove Rx cover.
Unplug one of the two steering servos
From the Rx and test (turn steering back and forth a few times)if the lights dimming when trying to turn the wheels
Happens still, that is likely the bad servo
Test the other servo as well just to be sure.report your results

Only time i see the lights dimming on mine are when the batteries are getting low, especially with the Nimh stockers.
10 minutes of course shouldn't run em down.

Im riding the stock servo's still i see any issues then im going single.

That is normal.....but the glitching plus weak steering leads me to servo if on a full charge they blink or dim when turning thats the first place i'd look.I have personally seen, a number of strange things happen when a servo goes bad.

Well i got my new batteries for the transmitter and headed outside last night and all worked great...kinda.

It didnt glitch and the steering seemed "better" (still wasn't impressed) I went to work (I work graveyard) and saw all the sugestions. (on break of coarse) Did like you guys sugested this morning and wouldn't you know it I have a bad steering servo.

Now the question is do I contact traxxas or just get a chop shop servo off eBay for $22-25 bucks and get it in a couple days without the headaches that might otherwise entail from dealing with traxxas.

It's a Kawi edition truck I got from a Kawi dealer on eBay it was brand new I took the plastic off myself I just wonder what trax will say when it's not the newest model.

    Decisions decisions.
    Thanks for the help,
    Dan

But one off eBay then send yours back for warranty. Never hurts to have a spare servo.

    Good call,
spare parts are great to have.
Waiting for parts is the least fun thing of all

Traxxas has the EASIEST warranty program EVER.

There is literally NO hassle when dealing with Traxxas.
I am usually on the phone for less than 15 minutes when I have to call.

Most of the time they do not even care where (or when) you bought it...
I have even heard of them replacing parts for second and third hand owners for free!
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

Yeah that was easy...as soon as I found out what was wrong I got one coming fom eBay and then called traxxas talked to a guy for maybe 3-5 mins and he is sending a new one. Took longer to push the buttons to get to him then I actually talked to him.

It was my plan all along to get one as quick as I could off eBay because I have never had an issue with my revo. Now we will see wich one gets here first.
