What causes the unbalancing of cells during a run?

I run 2x 2s lipos. They always charge and balance correctly, to within .01-.02V (or so my charger says)

My runs are always fine for 30-40mins, but then the car will start chugging. I plug the lva in and in only one of the batts the cells are bout .25V apart (usually 3.3 - 3.65). So I always call it day, then re-balance them properly.

Any idea what causes this? Is it the car or the batt?

Too high of discharge rate. Over discharged. Bad cell. The low voltage cutoff setting needs to be 3.2 or higher.

I guess my batts must be on their way out...Cells are never balanced fully when charged (out by a .15v or so) and are taking a long time to charge, longer than before.

It's possible that one of the cells has built up a higher internal resistance than its counterpart. That will lead to one cell discharging at a different rate than the other.

Best way to find out is to give the manufacturer a call or send them an email and they can tell you.
