You've done a good job there mate...well done.

Rock n Rolla !
that body came out nice painted and the lining you did with the sharpie give it more that realistic look. I use that same 17mm but a socket on mine works great.

thanks everyone, browsing thru ebay right now to buy a set of wheels/tires and some more parts. i'm having hard time picking of what to use for my front end bumper support, i'm looking thru XO-1 and ofna GTP2, i did bought the slayer front and rear bumpers, i just have to find out whether the body fits, i'm thinking mounting the slayer f/r bumpers upside down and maybe trimming it to fit.
Good luck mate...you'll figure something out. I've had to put my build on hold for a couple weeks...lets just say it did not go down well with my wife when she saw another build unfolding in front of her eyes
.
A weekend down to the North coast with the wife and kids should sort that out...I hope.
Rock n Rolla !
hope things work out with you and wife mate, so that we can see the progress of your build and see some extreme bash video![]()
any of you guys have any idea of xo-1 differencial differences betwwen the erbe/embe diffs, (talking about the inside of the diff case). http://www.ebay.com/itm/330766996713...=p5197.c0.m619.
No worries mate...she will be alright. A holiday down to the beach with the family; it will also be perfect for my Summit...And in a couple weeks she will forget all about the new build...unfortunately the kitchen bench top is also my RC bench work top, normally once the kids go to bed thou...so I am able to work.
Rock n Rolla !
sounds good....as long as she gets to run the summit mate, thats all that matters. i tried working my rc inside the house and i got kicked out so, garage is prety much my RC cluttered place lol.
My wife trys to get me out of the house when working on my rc atleast she did when we lived at the temp place since it had a porch over there and sometimes here as well on the porch but i use the excuse i dont want to get all my stuff outside where everyone can see it and know what i have and ask can i run 1 yeah right i have to tell them.
DEU 8:18 ESV
i cant compete with my boys toy, they are everywhere inside the house. its a good thing i have all my stuff inside the garage this way they dont get played on and mixed up with their toys![]()
ooh i knwo what you mean i keep mine in the closet locked up when family comes with kids because they think they can push it and sit on it like a Walmart toy truckalong with all my chargers, lipos, tools. keep the house clean too. Wish i had the room you do with a garage soon.
on topic about build: are you gonna be using stock traxxas bearings? frankly i am tried of the stock bearings i'll be getting avid bearings when mine need replacing anytime seem to be right around the same price gotta try something different see if it lasts longer

running it stock, dont have any problem with it......plus most run i do are on the street....less sand/dirt gets in. so far non of my stock bearing give up on me (knock on wood)
i thought the same thing with my bearings in my rc's then i started having bearing fauilers with pede, merv now i take them out every few months to clean and lube them seems to help but still going with avid and follow the same cleaning
DEU 8:18 ESV
back in the days with my 1/10 onroad i use bearings with metal shield and those did'nt last long. then they come out with bearing that traxxas use and i get good long use of them.
my vacation starts today so in anxious to see what im getting in the mail this week lol. guys got any idea of what your RC going to be this halloween?![]()
recieved my 2.5 chassis today and just as i thought, its the right length. heres the fitting,

Perfict...... wheels?? throw some wheels on there?? Please....
Would you go flip my truck back over??
^^unfortunately i'm still waiting for it, it should be here by friday or saturday.
Much better...looking good now, not long before its finished.
Are you using the Slayer or Slayer Pro arms on your build...they look like the Pro to me; I got the Pro for my build. I read somewhere about the Pro arms causing body rub for the eSlayer and the SC8 body which I am using (I think that it was referring to the wheels).

Rock n Rolla !
i believe its the extended a-arms, which are the slayer pro ones. if my wheels stick out a bit and hit the wheel wells i can always trim the ends of the a-arms little by little.
very nice...love the sharpie door handles...gonna use that technique next time i do my paint job...
glad the 2.5 fits...looking real good...

The armes are from the Slayer pro, That thing looks sick though. I cant wait to see how it turns out once it's all done.
thanks guys, anyway stayed up late to get some things done. here are some of what i did:
may helping hand lol,
cut my right side steering servo housing,
^^with that done i can have my batt tray moved forward.
then i have my ESC tray right next to it,
had to put 2 spacer to level the tray,
also have my reciever box tray bridging from motor side to right left steering servo housing,
with lipo batt strapped on

what tranny are you going with on this built? same as the other or different. looking nice so far there.
DEU 8:18 ESV
thanks mike, i have a spare tranny that need few things. i'm using the slayer final drive and RR standard 2nd gear ratio 39T, still have to buy primary shaft and the RR standard top gear 17T. i'll buy them last, i'm trying to find a way to mount a xo-1 front bumper and mount, cant use the revo body mount, it hits under the hood.
little update, recieved my motor mount support & slayer suspension. i took apart the suspension and put 2 pistons each shocks as a limiters from my old t-maxx. i just wish my wheels are here so that i can see how low the car stand.

Mucho exciting! Can't wait to see it with the wheels and case on!
Now this is where I'm stupid - can the E-Revo g/box drop in there, or does it have to be the Revo (Nitro) box to fit? And are you going the motor for braking or mechanical and motor?
there is no stupid Q's here LOL. nitro tranny with RR 2nd gear locked 39T and top input shaft gear 17T and slayer final drive gear. first gear is eliminated and the motor do all the braking.
So that's a no to the E-Revo box fitting? And i see your RR gears are holding up well!
no, e-revo trans require modding the chassis to make it to fit.
Looking good...what springs you using there?
Rock n Rolla !
its the stock ones from the slayer (yellow/white). it feels soft still even though i did put the spacers inside the shocks with 55 wt. oil.
I am going to run silver/blue with with 35 wt oil...I probably make a mod for the spacer at work with some stainless tube which is almost an exact slip on...will just cut down to size.
Rock n Rolla !
little update, recieved my motor mount support & slayer suspension
have you put a motor in yet, I remember somebody having to do a little shimmimg with washers...
Would you go flip my truck back over??
Are the spacers you using now plastic or metal?? I thought they were metal rings...will have to look tonight :0
Rock n Rolla !
87 GN, i did'nt get to try to mount the motor yet but, i will do it in the day time. i have been trying to make the XO-1 front bumper to fit and i've been fighting this for hours. i think i got it now.... its not just x0-1 bumper that i use but also the slayer bumper too. this is what i come up with. i got to tell you, i aint doing this again LOL.
slayer bumper top mounted upside down
XO-1 bottom. both have been cut to fit.
both bumper attached together
then i cut and bend a aluminum sheet and screw it to the skid plate.
mounted it on

I'm glad its coming together mate...their is always a lot of time and effort put into building and modding trucks. Keep up the good work, I know how frustrating it can get at times![]()
Rock n Rolla !
