Texas member.. new to the site

Hey all,

im a several year RC hobbyist.. My Slash 4x4 is my 2nd Traxxas rig and i freakin love it!

- only upgrades are aluminum carriers front/rear, 3s LiPo and Traxxas Big bores.
my new Desert Rat all painted up turned out pretty good i think, it was done with Tamiya rattle cans.

Looks sweet.

Have you upgraded the plastic bearing guide on the slipper shaft to aluminum? Definitely recommend it since your running 3s. Also may want to consider aluminum hexes as well.

Hey how does your battery tray cover thing have so many slots? mine only has 1 and its so hard to fit my 2s in there, is there like an expansion kit?

Txslasher- im located in Ft Worth. Since Mike's and Indy are so far away, i dont get out there. I usually bash here at my house or i find cool spots at parks around town.

Traxxasguy- that is an option battery hold down from traxxas. It comes with the front metal post and the plastic rear. I dont remember the part # but i believe it was about $10

Texas member here too. We are in Denton. My son and I run at Mikes quite a bit. I have been to Indy once and the tracks very good but dominated by nitro. I felt like we were getting in their way when we were on the track. We also broke a lot of parts there also. Mike's in my opinion may be the better place to run cause the indoor track is really built for the 1/10 trucks and buggy but jut my opinion.

ok, a little update..

i got the body finished and mounted, chassis dyed black, AKA 17mm hexes, AKA 1/8th wheels and some Duratrax Derringer Buggy tires. i found the buggy tires to be about 2mm-3mm greater ID than the OD of the wheels, but a few extra rubber bands solved that issue. i think it turned out awesome and im very happy how the overall look is. let me know what you think!
