    Batteries these days

It's been a while since I've posted here. Bought a house a couple years ago and have been traveling for work so my ERBE has been sitting in the basement for a while. I'm charging up a couple of my batteries that haven't puffed in storage and I'll see how it runs, but I know I'll need some more packs. These are 20C Flight Max 5000 2s. These were some of the highest capacity batteries you could fit in the truck back when I got them. Batteries have come a long way, apparently. Now they're much cheaper and much higher capacity. I'm seeing 40C 7600 mah 2s packs for less than I paid for my 5000s, and 4500 30C packs for just over $20!

What is the minimum amount of amps you need packs to deliver? Is hardcase really needed if I'm just out goofing off? I'm not planning to run 3s, FWIW.

    I believe I have read that the minimum amps to run are 125 - which would be 5000mAh x 25C ÷ 1000 = 125

I run 2S 5000's in my ERBE and it runs strong and gives me pretty consistant run times while bashing...when I do alot of speed runs, obviously the run times are less.

It may be worth it to try them out... If they read above 3.0v per cell, then try em. If they get really hot its time to get some new ones.
Its All relative to your perspective.

    MY BATTS:
    2S 9000 x 28C = 252,000 didide 1000 = 252 amps
    2S 8000 x 28C = 224,000 divide 1000 = 224 amps
    3S 5200 x 40C = 208,000 divide 1000 = 208 amps
    2S 4700 x 25C = 117,500 divide 1000 = 117.5 amps
^ I use in my Summit..... or Requires proper gearing^

    ( mah x c rating / 1000 = amps),

The more amps the better / minimun of 120 amps.

The ESC will only draw the amount of amps it needs.

Higher the mAh the longer the runtime.
For brushless systems 8000 mAh about 45 min & a 5000 mAh about 30 min.
Times are longer for brushed systems.
Would you go flip my truck back over??

Yeah, I plan to reuse the ones that didn't puff in storage. My charger put about 2500 mah into them. Pretty sure they were only about half full when I last used them, though.

I plan to buy 4 more packs. I'm not competing and super long runtimes aren't really a big deal. I generally give my truck a once over and a breather when I swap packs. Found some nice looking hard case 40C 5000 2s packs for $28. Wow.
