    installing new foam into tires???

I need to put some new foam in my front tires cause they shrink up like a dragster when going fast.I need some input on how to get the tires off and on and glue them.I have glue already.I just dont wanna wreck my tires.

go to your local hobby shop and buy a bottle of CA glue de-bonder. and apply it to your tires just like you would if you are gluing them, then just work with the bead and it will come off. it may take awhile but it will work.

You can soak your tires in acetone to remove the glue but it will also remove the chrome on your rims.

You can bake them in the oven, it works pretty good. You can also use a heat gun, if your not careful you can melt your wheels. When you get your tires off you would probably be better to tape the inside of the tire, when you change the foam. I taped the inside of mine with duct tape before I mounted them to the wheels, and it worked great.

how warm does the oven need to be??i see the duct tape make the rubber more firm.

I've heated the oven up to 450°, shut it off, wrapped tires in tin foil and put them in the oven for about 15-20min.

I've had the best success boiling the tires in boiling water for 15 minutes, letting them cool, the glue becomes brittle and they pop right off, just need to dry off the foams or replace them...

Probably an appropriate location for my Tire mounting tip thread..... Helps with this issue of installing foams and mounting tires in a nice way... http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...t=Tire+Glueing

I followed Nitronaughts procedure on my proline trenchers and they work great.

mine used to swell up and look like a pizza cutter.

These tires will stretch/balloon as speed increases. You want some ballooning but not a lot of it. In the thread I posted it shows the taping of the insides of the tires with duct tape or gorilla tape. The tape acts just like the belts inside a 1:1 tire does. Follow that thread and you will have a nicely mounted set of tires....

yes and be careful with your rims if you use wither the boiling/baking method cause when their heated like that they can warp if you not gentle with them

If spots are still glued and refuse to let go, you can use an exacto knife to help free them up.

And once the tire is all cooled down, there will be some CA glue crud/residue on the bead that you need to get off in order to remount the tire. A dremel with a sanding bit works good on this.
