I guess I'll either have to get a BL motor or just keep using the EVX-2 that's in it already.

Nothings really wrong with the EVX-2, it's the older gen that does not have LVD. I just thought I could get the ESC with a built in LVD and water proof for a good price. Plus, later on I could go with a BL motor if I wanted to.

I've been looking for a good SCT roller because I want to start racing. Maybe I'll just keep this Hobbywing ESC boxed until I can find the roller I want.

that would be a good idea on keeping it boxed and would be great in a SCT for sure. having it on my emaxx and being 10lbs it handles very well most of the time it runs cool.
if your look into getting a brushless motor look at leopard 4274 or 4282(4s-9s)lol, hobbywing 4274 2000kv, tacon lastly.

    Just say'in
A little late but, get your self a tin of soldering flux, it helps the solder flow much easier then the little bit of flux in the "flux core solder" does.

^ that. You have to be careful, but check the manual and it will say exactly how to wire it if it can accept that.

I know that the Tekin RX8 and CC MMM have special modes that you have to select through castlelink and the Tekin programming software to run brushed.

Not all ESCS are universal, the MMM and RX8 are their price for a reason. They are extreamly versital and although the HObbywing is close in performance, they had to cut some things to make budget.

I'm going to just keep it boxed and use it in the SCT roller when I get one.

I dont think Ive ever seen a SC on 4s lipo

You can get a good brushless motor for like $50-70 if you wanted, but ur having plenty of fun with the dewalt, so why not just leave it?

Yeah I'm not messing with the DeWalt for a basher motor.

That Brushless ESC is a 2s-4s LiPo compatible. So at the most I'd try is 3s in a SCT.

forgot to show the KD spring. I'm sure it works out shorter than the stock spring.

I guess I'm just hitting a bad streak with online vendors.

    Email conversation goes like this.

    22 Aug

Vendor: I'm sorry to inform you that I do not have any blue heat sinks in stock at this moment. It may take abut a week to get them from the manufacture.

Me: If you have the silver ones that is fine. Just send that.

Vendor: Hah. Just went to check on silver heat sinks and there was one blue one in there. Can send that.

Me: Blue or silver… either is fine. Surprise Me!!

    29 Aug

Me: Would it be possible to get some shipping info on the heat sink fan and motor spray I ordered? I was wondering when I might expect it. Thanks, Andy

Vendor: Yes, i believe I emailed about the heatsink not being in stock. It is arriving today form Integy and will ship today. Should get a shipping notice by the end of the day.

Me: On the 22nd you sent me an email saying you found one blue sink with the silvers. I replied back saying send me a blue or silver, it didn't matter. I guess you missed that email.

Vendor: Ah yes. My mistake. Your order was for 1 heatsink. Can ship now.

This is kinda off topic but I just pulled the trigger on a new STRC Ofna Hyper 4x4 SC10 Chassis. Looks like I'm gonna start a new build and begin racing Short Course Trucks.

    sweet indeed.

Is intersesting design, I have no clue what the thrust bearings would do. But it does work far better than the stock spring.

Sweet, I am thinking of getting into racing too as we just had a new indoor nitro/electric clay track open up like 2 minutes from my house!

The local track here isn't that close, but it's about 5 miles away. It's pretty nice, the club just finished rebuilding the track, they made it almost twice the size it was before. Plus the built a new huge drivers stand. I've been to a few races to watch and learn. I also have helped Turn Marshall a couple of times. It's fun!

Remember when I said I was going to keep my older, 1st set of LiPo's and just use them for test/maintenance runs? Well I charged them up after the last time I used them which was about two weeks ago. I took the Maxx out for some fun this morning and as soon as I plug in my LVA it shows one cell is at the low limit before any running

Then I forgot and left then in my kit bag in the garage for the rest of the day and what do you know… Puffy!

So I guess I'll be trashing them and look at getting a couple of packs. Maybe I'll research some 3s packs, Hmm

Dont screw around with iffy lipos. If they blow, you could loose alot more than just a batery pack...

I belive you are suppose to imerse them in salt water?? and then take them to a recyling center. I just take them to the local ecology club head and she gets rid of them for me

It's just the GoPro head strap, it works decent but close up shots get kinda hairy.

    I have a fan!

FINALLY! I got my motor fan in today!

Now I can be "cool" like the other cool RC dudes

Any Ideas on how to keep it from rotating when bashing and bouncing? I tried to bend it in a little. That helped but I can tell that after some jumping this heat sink is going to be sliding around. I thought maybe just a small piece of Gorilla Tape on the bottom edge. But I'm afraid the heat from the motor will melt the tape.

Oh, I got it on just fine… I'm just trying to think of ways to keep it still.

I've got some small zip-ties. I'll try to use them.
