On the ESC you should have a small connector with 2 wires and that is for the optional cooling fan which I recommend getting. There should be a small molded clip on the ESC housing to hold that connector in place once you plug the fan to it. Brushless motors don't need any type of break in, plug it up and run it.

As far as the 2.4TQI I don't know. I don't have any experience with it. All my stuff is Spektrum. You should be able to find a manual for your radio on this site though.

ok thank you, is the cooling fan a factory traxxas option or? and is it for keeping the esc cool or the motor? thanks again

Yup traxxas makes the fan for it. It's only for the ESC it just plugs in and snaps on the ESC over the cooling fins. The VXL motor should run fairly cool alone. Mine ran about 170°F in short grass geared 17/86.

I would say those are most likely your telemetry slots. Rpm would provide the speed readings vt is probably the temperature.

It's telemetry. Rpm is speed and rpm readings. Vt is voltage and temp. Readings.
