Really like the 2.8 trenchers but hate the std hex, wondering if anyone has put them on 17mm splined rims?

Have you put 2.8" Trenchers on wheels with 17mm hexes?
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

i wonder about this setup alot. I doubt the stock driveshafts would last...but on mip or tekno shafts...i wonder how the diffs would hold up?

I did not think it would
Matter because the driveshaft is still turning the same wheel. Would it not still have the same rotating mass

where did you get 2.8 17mm wheels? Do you have a part number? I didn't know they existed.

Don't see why it can't work. All you have to do is stretch the 2.8 tires over 3.2 rims.

ohh...you're gonna try to stretch the 2.8 badlands on the 3.2 rims. I tried that once and it didn't turn out well. They had a wicked bounce to them.i hope you get better results than i did.

I've read lots about people having good results. It requires trim work of the foam

Yea man go for it. I can pm you with the results when I get home if your interested.

For the o.p. Just like RC-fan said I haven't seen any 2.8 17mm wheels. You could always upgrade to 14mm and it would lessen your chance of rounding out wheel hubs

Thanks for reply's guys , the Revolvers was what I wanted. was worried about streching them and not having wicked wheel wobble or bounce?

Have 2 buddies that have wrecked, stripped thier std rim hex's so want 17mm rims.

I think the Green Truck is 3.8 ? though ?

The only problem I see coming for you is, maximizers wont hold a beadless tire for beans! The bead that's on 3.2 tires is huge, locked behind the ring very well. Also the wheels (maximizers), are a heavy set so, upgraded shafts would be critical to that truck. I've run all kinds of tire mods, including lots of trencher (2.8) combos with 3.2 wheels. Best results are from trimming the tire to fit a bigger rim. Make it a low profile. Worsted results are from stretching full tire over the larger rim. This causes the treads to wash from side to side, wobble and ballooning.
