Just dermal a rectangle the shape of the on off switch on the side of your reciever box and mount it there.

The reason you end up with a link is you are posting the browser header, not the IMG code.

When you roll the courser over your photobucket pic you get the drop down opticians, put the courser over the IMG Code & click it, it will flash copied, then right click & paste here in the forum & it will be your pic & not a link.

Here is your pic using the IMG Code. You do need to resize your pics to a max of 640x480.

ok now I dont know whats going on!!!! since I did this mod tank.it keeps shutting off when giving it half full throttle.then I can start it right back up.almost like theres not enough pressure in the tank and I loose fuel flow?????I did notice my back plate starter shaft is leaking though.why doesnt this tank lid snap down tight like the original????

My lid is real tight. Make sure the Allen screw in the top is tight also check your spring on the lid. Quick note:The lid is reversible if you want it to open the other way.

You need to tighten the screw in the lid top to make it seat tighter, the lid should "pop" a little when you open it.

what it is, is that the lip of your tank will contact to a rubber o-ring inside your lid and with the pressure of the spring it will seal it good.

mine is an ofna brand but not the voilator to be specific but i assume since its made by the same company, they have the same type of sealing. mine have a 0-ring like in the lid that would close contact when its shut.

well got the lid fixed and still it was stalling cutting out on a high speed run.guy at the LHS said make sure you have no leaks any where.and also that the muffler could be bad causing a lack of back pressure.so I stripped down both motors and cleaned and new seals.and STILL it would cut out.so I tried my sons muffler off his 2.5 and that seems to be the problem.it ran good after that.so now should i get another traxxas resanotor pipe??or go with something else??

An ebay resonator is probably the cheapest route.

There is also the THS pipe set's.

i have the 4907 t maxx and im looking to do the violator tank mod because i went through 3 stock tanks already, so i figured i would solve the 1/2 tank leaning issue and would stop breaking the tanks. Now besides the tank what else do i need to do the mod. I heard you can mount the battery box above the steering servo is that correct?

Yes you can mount the battery box on the servo. You will need the fuel tank, 2 bags of the bells posts 0part #4944. An some 3x30mm screws. Instead of spending the 7.99 on mounts for the battery box maybe look into getting a hump pack and ditch the steering servo. I picked up my hump pack and charger for $16

I think he means the reverse servo. Check my picture post #3 in this thread you'll see my flat pack where the reverse servo should be.

Here's an example of mounting the flat pack behind the Steering servo on the underside of the frame.

i dont have reverse i just have forward only. What did you secure the zip tie to to hold the hump pack. Also did you have to drill any holes for the tank?

Sorry I meant battery box. Yes you only have to drill one hole. Use the search bar above and search "buying the violator tank and doing the upgrade"

See the holes in the bottom of the servo mount.

Slide the zip tie through and around the pack and ready to bash. Just make sure you cushion the bottom of the battery with some foam. You can use the existing rear battery box hole, you'll only need to drill 1 hole for the front mounting post.

Gotta give the credit for that sweet setup & pic to SnookMan, I just found it & liked the way he mounted the flat pack.

dont worry there not suppose to pop like the originals.i argued that with a guy at my local hobbky shop thats been doing nitros for 7yrs.he said those tanks are not going to pop like the original tank.and its because they use a white seal over the Oring.if you flip your lid up you will see a white seal.behind that is a black Oring.mine only makes a slight pop.and he rebuilt the lid and I watched him.he also said dont keep trying to tighten that screw on top or you will strip it out.

The power switch is not resistant to liquid what so ever.... The battery packs and servos are usually much better protected...

Considering Fuel spillage when filling up, I'd relocate that switch away from the liquids...

I like the ideo of putting it into the receiver box, if you don't have a dremel you can use a small drill and put a bunch of little holes in the pattern of the switch the more holes the better. Then just use side cutters to cut away the material between the holes.. No Dremel required .
