XO-1 in Car and Driver magazine

So i was just flipping through a magazine i got the other day which is a Car and Driver for the month august and i saw that there was a page dedicated to the XO-1. some of the specs for it was that they said it was a 3.5hp motor they said the weight was 13lb, they said it was hard to manage the wheelspin so they could only get a 3.3sec 0-60 time and their 0-100 was 6.9sec. a 1/4 mile was 11.7sec@101mph. i might scan the article later and post it. sorry if anyone already posted this

i believe they made it on TV news, so thats really good for RC freaks out there. not that some ppl out there did'nt hit 3 digits mph with their other RC. traxxas just stepping up to compete with others, same situation with 1:1 cars.

Right on! So with a good traction start by some PRO RC racing guru, it should be able to shave at least another second off that 11.7 quarter mile time. I doubt the car and driver guys could launch it as well as an RC guy. Put some higher C batteries in it and get 2-3 more mph on top and one could get into the low tens with XO-1. That would put it in the ZX10/GSXR1000/R1/CBR1000 neighborhood. Like to bring XO-1 to Pinks and win some guys musclecar. lol. If I lost i would have to give him XO-1 and cut a check for another ten grand just to make it half fair.

Thanks for posting this! I just picked up a copy of the magazine to keep in my XO-1 shrine!

For all of those Rustlers that do 100 mph out there:

How many Rustlers were featured in Car And Driver and called "The Veyron of RC cars" ?!!!!!

What stinks is the insert in C&D which lets you get a one year subscription for $10!!! The single copy was $5!

Very cool to see that. The XO-1 looks like a real car in the picture. With a 1/4mile run in 11.7sec thats in the Audi R8 and 911 turbo territory while blowing Bentley and Aston Martin. I can bet you with better tires and lose about a pound of weight that car can hit mid to high 10s.

Well differences with Real Car and RC is you can ride that real one but you can't afford, so you keep on just starring at it and see how fast it goes, for the RC $1100+ you could afford if you want too, run it at 100mph++ once it's flips or breaks, it won't break any of your bones, and we live on those cities that have speed limits I'm sure, keep on RCing go XO1 luxury car!

Edgemoulic, you have quite an impressive list of rc's in your signature. Do you still own all of them or just the latest one?
