    Lightbulb New Traxxas Vehicle Suggestion

I know the summit is Traxxas' crawler, but can we look forward to a solid axle crawler any time soon? I mean Traxxas had a huge impact on bringing RTR to the masses. Imagine how big crawling could be made under Traxxas quality! I know I would buy it over other brands!

I could see them doing something for formula off road but not crawling. Especially since there is not a quality issue in the crawling world.

I've been wishing for a Traxxas crawler for a long time. I don't think it's going to happen.

Looks like Traxxas has started sponsoring a dirt bike racer. I am also seeing a lot of posts on their FB page about dirt bike racing. I suspect that the next vehicle they put out will be a dirt bike.

In my short time in this hobby it seems that part of Traxxas's business plan is to... Sponsor a driver, produce a RC to match it.

Only the Traxxas R and D people would be insane not to....
Truth is, I play with Toy trucks ......all kinds...
Our business is R/C and I've seen scaling grow more and more.
I go to Axialfest every year and this time people all the way from Illinios and Hawaii showed up...... There was over 200 rigs.....!
Yeah, 170 people out chasing their trucks through the woods....There was even some 1:1 crawlers.
I'd buy a Traxxas based product ONLY if it was scale...
Best part is an event like the Recon G6 or Axialfest , you always meet awesome people.
Not so much when you race......people are not always very cool.

The ultimate to me would be a Traxxas scale looking solid axle truck with 2 speed and a reversed dig, so you could choose between RWD and 4WD, and locking diffs. It would be completely waterproof, and it could use a Summit 4ch radio, with the 2 speed on the rocker switch, and with the 3 position switch you could have 2wd - 4wd - 4wd w/locked diffs. Then add a Blast behind it on a Traxxas made trailer. Hey I can dream can't I?

This sounds a lot like a Tamiya Brusier.

Not really. The bruiser doesn't have remote locking diffs, and is only 4wd in low gear, and 2wd in 2nd and 3rd gears. With the setup I'm talking about, you could have 2wd or 4wd in both high and low gears. Also I don't like the looks of the bruiser.

It's actually possible to build the truck I'm talking about with a Venom creeper and aftermarket 2 speed trans and dig. It would just cost a fortune, and I'd much rather have a Traxxas one.

Well if you dont like the Brusier get a High Lift with a front dig. Then you could have 3 speeds in 2wd and 4wd. You can wait for Traxxas to make one but I bet they will make a RC lawnmower or bring the Monster Buggy back first.

Still no remote locking diffs, which is very important to me. I don't like the High Lift or F350 anyway. If I had the money to get one I'd just build one with Creeper axles, R2 trans, reversed dig and traxxas electronics. Like I said, I'm dreaming here. I know Traxxas will never make one, that doesn't mean I can't dream of it.

The remote diffs on the creeper really dont work well. If traxxas were to make a crawler locking diffs that work could be a good selling point. But they still wont out perform a locked diff.

And the High Lift comes in 3 flavors. F-350, Hilux, and Tundra.

Creeper locking diffs work fine if you set them up right, but that's besides the point. I'm just explaining a model I wish Traxxas would make.

Yes I forgot about the Tamiya Tundra, but I don't like that one either. The Tamiyas are not what I want, I don't like them, and I'm not sure why you keep trying to push them.

    lol

I just thought of something else Traxxas should make, although its not a vehicle. A Traxxas branded FPV system, with a little LCD that you can clip to the top of the TQI.

This particular one is called "About Traxxas" and is a place to discuss Comments/Suggestions about Traxxas, website, other. If you want to get technical its "http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread.php?8956321-New-Traxxas-Vehicle-Suggestion&p=5221948#post5221948". Since this particular thread is titled "New Traxxas Vehicle Suggestion" and the idea of a crawler got brought up its only natural to discuss available products in a class that Traxxas does not offer any products.

Id be interested into a crawler from Traxxas too. Although Traxxas seems to like the fast cars and trucks, and crawlers aren't very fast. They might make one, and it'd be pretty cool if they did.

Hey thanks for that. Do we need to go over all the option for the other manufacturers too? How about body colors? Why is it only you that constantly and consistently throws up other manufacturers' products?

There's a time and place for this. You are again going beyond.

That's why it would be cool to have a 2 speed, like the Summit.

Most crawler chassis's are large enough that you could install a Summit trans or one of the two speed E-Maxx transmissions.

how about a rc with mattracks on it. i used to have one long long long time ago and it lasted me like 10yrs bought it for $75 at the time and i ran that thing hard, alot harder than my hobby grade rc's and never broke, engine lasted a long time before break a wheel off jumping it off my 18step stairs numerous times. it was great off road as well on loose dirt and road use. the mattracks last very long. i got mine going 20mph on 9.6v for the cheap motor now for a rc like that its fast.

+1 on this idea. A 1/5th scale gasser with a setup like the Revo 3.3.. that would be a 5t killer!

I think a Tim Cameron rock racer type replica would be in order ....full roll cage .... motor up front or mid as an option, for decent weight distribution with an E-Maxx 2 speed tranny with remote lock diffs and rear wheel steering as well

Hijack my thread much guys? This thread is about asking traxxas to make a solid axle crawler unrelated to the summit. You guys do know you can start a thread too right? Traxxas loves feedback!

Well no offense taken but maybe you should have worded the topic a bit more specific. When we all read " NEW TRAXXAS VEHICLE SUGGESTION". Thats what we all responded on. Sorry for jacking your thread and maybe now that its cleared up you will get the responses you wanted. Also i mean no sarcasm or offense by posting this. Hope none is taken.

On that note i also would like to see more of a different style crawler produced. Im not that familiar with them in scale but used to be one of my biggest hobbies with my rubicon before i had to lose it to bankruptcy due due my disabilities. I have often wanted to buy and build a crawler kit and imo there are not enough options from the manufactures in this class. Especially traxxas. I welcome a rig based off your opinion with solid axles and some wicked suspension travel even.
