My vxl came with the power cell charger for the 8.4v hump battery. On the charger it says: input 100-240volt ac 50/60 hz.... It is the north American 2 blade plug....I am sure you can get a simple plug adaptor to make it match what ever you got at your home...as long as you in put between 100 to 240 volts you should be fine....be careful not to let the smoke out!!!
All charger's convert and put out only the amount needed to charge the battery. It would be user error if the battery got higher voltage then needed.

Well, soon enough you want lipo and a lipo charger. Then you can just take a AUS laptop cable from the psu and plug in to the charger (if it has built in psu) thats what im doing with stuff bought from abroad. With the original weak charger I cant help.....
I think what tt3 is saying is the original charger is not that great.
It should work with your local power with a plug in adapter if the specs mentioned earlier are correct.
For an aftermarket charger, make sure to buy one that is capable of balance charging LiPo batteries. It will still be able to charge NiMh batts, and do either much faster than the stock charger.
I've never looked into what chargers specs are down under as I'm in the US. Chargers come in two types, essentially:
•built-in power supply (less expensive, less powerful) OR
•external PSU (more expensive, more powerful)
For built-in it might be simpler to buy one designed directly for use with Australian plugs. For external PSU type the charger itself will be the same and the power supply would be the part that's different for Aussie vs US.
Just my thoughts. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in.
What broke, uh, needs upgrading now?
yea i cant help with your quastion but i will say i would not be to updet if i were you and it didnt work, stock charger takes like 7 hours to charge a nimh 3000mah 7cell that comes with your car wich is so painfuly slow its not fun. def get your self a fast charger, you dont need to go whole hog and get a 100$ does every thing charger right off the bat, a cheap fast charger will be fine to start off with if u wanted to go that route, of course getting a good charger that will charge many types of batteries is great if its in your budget right now. a good cost effective one is the thunder ac6 or the ac680, the 680 is almost twice as much at about 60$ USA but is more powerful. the ac6 is a good charger for the mony as well, they will charge nimh, nicad, lipo life wich should meet your needs. ether charger should charge up the stock nimh in prob some wear around 30 min i would think. takes about 1 hour to ballence charge my 2s lipo wich is a 5000mah. much larger capacity than the stock nimh. i have the ac680 by the way and it works great. but like i said a cheaper fast charger for nimh will be a big step up for you. waiting 7 hours for a 15 min or so run is just not fun imho.
Australian would be your best bet
