    Motor shim

    Hey Guys,

When I got my Hawk2 I found this between the motor and the motor mount...

I've seen it before on the exploded views, but I never thought I'd see one live...

Also, I haven't seen it on eBay or anywhere else... Does it have a part #?

    Thanks!

    Daniel

Pretty neat. It's kinda like the black rubber square that goes over the mounting post on the rear tower for the TRX-1. I couldn't find one anywhere....let alone an "out of stock" page. When I got the used TRX-1 for parts, it was included though.

And I haven't seen one since.......

The black rubber square wasn't that hard for me to find, I think I have one on each truck... Both, new and used... I don't know it has a part # either!

Due to the shape that piece is cut to, I'm more inclined to believe that it is to allow air to flow past it,for motor cooling purposes. I got one with my Hawk2 as well.

I've been making something similar myself and running them with all my fan cooled motors[550s] and I'm happy to report that I have never cooked a motor.

Wow! I never realized that was an original piece. I've had several of them and they're all probably laying in a pile of old parts or even on the floor of the shop.
