3.3 to brushless, what do I need?

So I've been messing with a revo 3.3 that I've decided to just turn to brushless instead of messing with rebuilding or buying a new 3.3, so what do I need? I was thinking of the velineon, will it work??

This will be my first electric, what should I not do?

a single velineon is too small to begin with for the truck, i would be worry on the temp. your better off getting the right motor for it (1/8 scale). are you keeping the aluminum chassis? are buying a conversion kit of it? tekno makes a electric conversion kit ( a bit pricey but, you get what you paid for, its quality) if you look around, you might find a good deal for a BL motor/ ESC for less than $200. to give you an example, check this out, http://www.rcecho.com/HOBBYWING-XERU...mbo-ME222.html

So I I've been working on it, wired in a Castle creations 10 Amp external BEC

Ran into a problem, the cables on the motor to ESC, are to short for the tekno esc to be used, so I can either relocate the mount or get longer cables

They are the ones that were already in it, I think the metal gears are from the reverse

So the cables on the motor are not long enough to reach the esc on top of the tranny where the tekno mount Is meant to hold them,

So I pulled the 2 screws that hold the shocks to The chassis and drilled 2 holes in the tekno esc plate mount and mounted over the shocks, I've used some industrial strength Velcro and that's where I'll put my esc for now unless a problem comes up

this conversion kit was tested with the green castle motor with the longer wires, and the motor you have now were meant for ERBE/EMBE versions only. i've seen ppl mount them right were you have it now with no problem, thats the location were i'm going to mount mine also.

so i have ran into a little dilemma
when i press the throttle on the transmitter, all wheels are turning backwards, making the car go in reverse, looking at the cables plugged into the ESC left to right is white red black

    are these backwards?

Please have no doubt that I will stand by the ESC and motor I sold you...but by that video it does appear to be spinning counterclockwise...ie backwards. Two things....have you kept the stock battery lead wiring from ESC to batteries and also any chance the battery leads are reversed?

Either swap any two motor wires (easiest method) or use the Castle Link software (to retain your aesthetic wiring) to reverse the motor direction. Either way works and both are easy to do.

NEVER, EVER swap the battery leads around! That will blow the ESC for sure.

Thanks Brian...yeah, definately did not mean to suggest swaping th battery leads on purpose.

Inflic...any chance we can get a pic of the battery to ESC connections?

    All done!

Ran about 20 minutes, just around the parking lot and yard everything held up well, did notice to much power going to the front wheels, they will bubble up before the rear wheels, any tips??

What's missing?? The pads!! Wore them all out.. Whats a better pad than just the traxxas stock???

Install 500k oil in the center diff...or remove it all together. You have to run your slipper darn near locked down or you will burn up slippers constantly. I installed a RRP Gen 3 slipper on my E-Revo and it was worth every penny.
