I start the engine and the speed immediately jumps up to about 10mph, give or take depending on idle speed. I understand the flywheel is spinning and that's where I am getting the 10mph from, but I believe it's causing incorrect speed readings across the board. I know it won't be dead on, but it should at least be close... it's pretty far off.
At WOT the speed will run up to about 55mph (in first), then it shifts into second, drops back down to 25-30mph and slowly heads back up to around 40mph or so.
All default values are set in the TraxxasLink app. (spur 38, pinion 14, drive ratio 6.010, TRX 3.3) The Revo is a stock 5309 so these values should be correct.
I called Traxxas multiple times today and no one seems to know anything about this sensor. They told me I should just subtract 10mph and that's my speed, but I don't even know if I trust that speed. Another guy had me change my spur gear to 40T even though I am running a 38T, that did nothing. After searching the forums I have ended up here... am I not alone?
What I have...
- Revo 3.3 (5309) already has magnet on flywheel
- TQi and docking base
- 6536 RPM Sensor Mounts (I am using mount A for the TRX 3.3)
- 6520 RPM Sensor (long)
- 6521 Temperature Sensor (long)
- iPhone 3GS with latest version of TraxxasLink
*I still have the Opti-Drive installed but don't think that would affect it?
Any help would be awesome, thanks!
