Telemetry - Which Mount for Speed Sensor?

    Hey guys,

My Speed Sensor mount came with (2) mounts - a small one and a big one.

For the Mamba E-Revo - which mount should I use? Im also thinking of installing the (included) 54T Spur Gear - so Im not sure if that changes the mount - if I am using a stock setup or not.

Also, Im assuming it just gets bolted right onto the Spur gear - right?

    Thanks,

Use the big one, its the only one that will attach fully to the revo spec slipper clutch. If you remove the screws that hold on the spur gear the mount goes right in place. Just use the longer screws that came in the package and everything should bolt right up.

OK, I think I have it figured out, kinda... the magnet slips into the pocket in the holder, I put a dab of super glue on it to keep it in place, then the sensor sits in the pocket on the outside of the spur gear cover and gets held in with a screw... (there is a also a very small set screw that comes with it, is maybe for a different model of car?), the problem that I'm having is when I put the spur gear cover back on, the magnet holder rubs on the cover... I am using the flat-head screws that come with the magnet holder, and they are screwed in so they are flush with the surface of the magnet holder, but it still rubs... anybody got a clue why?

When I pull the cover off and rotate the tires, I can see that the spur gear wobbles a lot, which may be the issue... what did I screw up here!?

So I tried to take out the Slipper Clutch to install my Speed Sensor. I got to the point where I had the cover off, the bolt, the spring, and then... HHHmmmm - how do you actually remove the Slipper Clutch from the Revo? The motor is blocking the space I need to remove the Spur Gear...

Please provide detailed instructions and/or pictures.

Well, I'm fairly sure all you have to do is bolt it to the outside of the spur gear... the motor is very easy to remove. Just loosen the silver hex screw on the front side of the motor, tilt it away from the spur gear, and slide it back and off. Disconnect the black, red and white wires from the ESC.

Im trying to avoid removing the motor because I fear I wont get the Spur and Pinion gears to line back up the way they came from the factory...

So Im hoping there is a trick to remove the Spur without touching the motor.

Unscrew the sliver bolt on the opposite side of the motor. The motor is on a swivel and you just need to push it back towards the receiver box, then the spur gear slips out. You do not need to take of the pinion gear on the motor. I have full telemetry on my erbe now. I installed my temp sensor on the hottest area of my motor, which is always up front near the shaft.

If you really are a Traxxas Employee you should get your directions right...

The right magnet holder is the SMALL one and not the larger or the ERBE. The smaller one is better aligned with the sensor but it will read the magnet using the big holder as well. More importantly the large magnet holder will grind on the spur gear cover. Both are plastic so it might just wear down but this is not an issue with the small holder.....
The ERBE viking will never walk alone
