Cool What did you do to your rustler today?

I bashed in the park with it and did not break it.

I replaced the rear carrier bearings, two were in pretty bad shape so I decided to just replace all 4. Unfortunately it had been raining all day so I really didn't want to run it.

Installed the castle 2400 MMP sct combo, geared it 25/52. Now it is time to play. Oh I run 1/8 buggy wheel's and full extended aluminium chassis and tower's. Thinking mid to high 70's as I already hit 60.2 geared 19/52 with the 3800 sct combo. I guess we will see.

I test drove the Project Rusty I am building with the Proline Performance transmission. I have uncovered some issues with it and have contacted Proline to see what they suggest.

    1. I replaced the front stock a arms with a set of rpm. (Replaced the rears already due to a bad crash).
    2. Replaced old set of dirt hawgs with a new set. (They were way beyond repair).
    3. Replaced the 27 Mhz receiver with a 2.4 ghz. (Bored of bashing and plan on going to the local track).
    4. Started a new paint job on a JC Concepts ford raptor body. (My other painted body is pretty beat up and wanted something new. I probably am not gonna bash with the new one and try to keep it nice).
    5. Spent way to much money this weekend. Wife's gonna kill me or just use it as an excuse to get a new purse or something.

Cool thread! Its something different besides the usual stuff.

    I don't have a Rustler, but I do have a Bandit.

I glued tires on and adjusted slipper clutch, hopefully going to a local club race this Friday... Weather permitting.

went out bashing with a few speed run's "18/50" gearing. She was fast with the 3800 sidewinder combo, going with the MMP/3800 when my battery plug's get here. Took her down to the big gravel lot and beat the snot out of her. Big jump's, couple of bad tumble's where the shock end came off. All in all a good outing. I do need a motor guard though.

Today I crafted a transponder mount from a pack of ham.

That's right, from the packaging that some ham slices came in... Let's see if it works.

Slash 4x4 heavy duty driveshafts are good and for a decent price as well. Much better than stock, and they can even compete with steel ones that unfortiunatly unpinn some times.

I gave my old Rustler a new look today.

I’ve looked at lots and lots and lots of RC paint jobs on line and a few at the LHS. They range from mild to wild and the individuals that create them have a talent and vision that I am severely lacking, my hats off to them. But with so many outstanding colors available I decided a one can wonder was within my abilities and would work just fine for my Rustler.

Yes they are Prolines new Street Fighter 2.8 on Desperados. A bit big for the rustler, I think meant more for the stampede, so i will at least have something to use them on lol. Im likely going to get some GRP tires and 17mm adapters, or go back to a 2.2 street tire.
