    mod1 gearing????

i have put a 20t/40t mod 1 gearing on my ERBE to try and see how it run and all i can say is wow!! this thing fly and yet scary, i think if i push it a little longer on full throttle it will blow out its tire, lol. i guess i better get a good set of street tires on this gearing. i dont run my ebre offroad, more of a pavement and alittle bit of short grass run but, with this mod 1 gearing its pertty much stay on the street.

    anyone here ever tried mod1?

road tires look at the proline street fighters nice tire for road surfaces. when i need a set for road i'll get me those as i know stock tires wear alot and the wheels you have now do to on road which is what i run also with the occasional off road use. I've read queit a few people on other sites use MOD 1 gearing and have great results too. like your ERBE wasnt fast enough

Are you running 4s, 5s or 6s? What are the temperatures of the ESC and motor with the 20t/40t mod 1 gearing? I want to run that gearing but I'm afraid that my ESC and motor will fry. Please tell me that it's safe.

    Get belted MT slicks.

I have not purchased these, so I can't provide any first hand knowledge.

But if you want to make a dedicated speed runner, these might be a good option for the project:

They are not cheap...$70 a pair

those looks pretty sweet but, for $70 a pair? thats more expensive than buying a set of tires for my 1:1 car, lol.

the tooth size are larger than mod.8 (32 pitch) and i find it much easier to mesh, not that i have trouble setting the mesh of a smaller pitch (48 pitch, 32 pitch) but this sure is alot easy.
