    Fisrt paint job

My Slash 4x4 needed a new body so I figured that with a lil help from some how-to videos online I could handle it
The body I picked is the Jconcepts 79 Ford SC body

It was late when I finished trimming the body last night so I will be adding decals tonight

Great job dude!! The second picture really shows how good it looks. I think i'm getting better each time I paint one. I've painted 5 bodies so far. I have 3 more in the works.

Wow good job dude. Seriously nice paint job for the first time. What did you use to mask the flames?

    Thanks
I used a combination of a Parma flame kit that I found at my lhs and tan masking tape to tie all the flames together in the front end

The first pic has a blue tint to it because the body still has the protective film over it... The 2nd and 3rd pics have the film removed The base color is Tamiya black backed with Tamiya gun metal, the flames are Tamiya bright red and then I used Pactra black backing paint to cover everything
I will post some better pics tonight after I get some decals on it

By the time you've painted plenty of bodies you will pick a simpler design. Just because they get thrashed so quickly. Don't get me wrong , I love a nice paint job but I now go for simplicity. I spent a week once taping and painting a body that I killed in one day. Another body I painted over 10 years ago is on a friends shelf queen. Keep up the good work , it's fun and rewarding.

Took the truck out to test the new rims and tires and my pinion came loose... It destroyed the spur gear and bent the rotor shaft
