+1 I bought my Tenshock 401 3500kv on cruseys advice - much better than stock. I use the hobbywing WP (Waterproof) SC8 esc, 120A sensorless - never gets much above 80-90F - awesome on 2s and, from what I hear (and will hopefully find out soon) blistering on 3s.

Both are definitely worth the money and, although they ship from HK I've not heard of anyone having delivery problems or, for that matter, anyone breaking one - Yet ;0)

    Look pretty nice too ;0)

I've put a fine aluminium mesh over my esc to stop grass getting in fan (which can be removed) doesn't affect temps (in fact seems to dissipate heat even more quickly)

Pic with old motor installed showing aluminium grass guard (lost my outerwears shroud!)

Ohh forgot to say - don't forget, these motors have 5mm shafts so you'll need new pinions and there are no bullets or battery connectors on either so you'll need them too ;0)

Only reason I didn't go castle is that getting them in, or too, uk cost a small fortune - we're talking 50% or more or the cost of a new VXL system - INCLUDING THE REST OF THE TRUCK! Postage was free and I got the whole system for under 80 ($120-130) - you guys in the US get the castle system much cheaper because we get double whammied with import tax and royal mail "handling" charges

Also, remember, if you are planning to race, these motors are not ROAR legal

    Why is that ?

Double the price for similar performance

I am a Castle fan but the Hobbywing / Tenshock combos offer outstanding bang for your buck
