Im wondering if my suspension will be different after i take my summit into some swallow water by the lake will the water make the suspension stiffer and shocks/springs move slowly up/down? Or is the rear supposed to be stiff goes up half way?

I've actually have drove/floated mine across a 20 foot pond that was about 4 feet deep and have not noticed a difference in the suspension. But I also clean, air off, wd-40, and dialectic grease all connections mine after every run. I would pull the shocks off and maybe take the springs off and see if there is a problem with the shock. Also remember that the summit is 14lbs stock.
I agree with Kelia,
Also, if moving the a-arms thru their travel feels gritty, sand/grit is most likely the problem.
I regularly get into sand and water. After such an encounter I rinse down with clean water and then blow it off compressed air then lubricate. If there is grit/sand in the suspension arm pivot pointsas well as the shocks, it could cause the suspension to "slow down" or stick. It would be more evident on the rear suspension since the stock springs on the rear are softer.
It's also a good idea to regularly inspect the blue seals on the shafts and suspension components.
Hope this helps.

I spray every moving joint. A arms, axle u-joints, pivot balls, driveline joints, all link joints, and I try and get all bearings if I don't repack them. Oh and try and get a light mist on your screw heads so they don't rust.
no i haven't had any problems ive crossed a creek that6 was moving fast and was deep b it didnt hurt the shocks or any thing
wd40 seems to be the perfect answer for protection after water fun = makes sense
