Exclamation Any cool mods for Slayers?

Well, I got bored today and I started to tinker around with my slayer, then I noticed the "slop" between the body and the nerf bars. So, I desided to fix that once and for all! I went out into my garage and looked for some screws to put in the nerf bars, but then I realized that would wear holes in the body like after 4 runs. So, still thinking about the screw idea, I started thinking about what I could put on the screws to prevent the screw from rubing holes in the body. While I was looking around, I found the tubing I used for exhaust pipe mod, and that it fits PERFECTLY on the tips of the screws. So I drilled holes in the nerf bars for the screws, then I put the tube pieces on the tips of the screws, then I super glued the tube pieces on the screw just in case they try and fall off.
So far, it works great, and it keeps the body from shifting around so much and it keeps the body straight!! While I was adding the nerf bar extenders, it got me thinking, I've seen people put "air ducts" and "vents" on XO-1's and MERV'S, but what about putting a air duct from the opening in the windshield to the cooling head? If so what would I need to use to create such an air duct? And is it even possible? Or, does anyone have any other good/creative mods for the slayer? This slayer section seems rather empty on build threads and creative mods... Can anyone prove me wrong? Here is some pics of my mods I did.
DeWalt 1/8 Summit, Slash XL-5, Slayer Pro 3.3.

I kind of did the same thing for the body slop by putting Velcro strips on the nerf bars and the inside of the body.
You don't need to plug Nitro into the wall

My Slayer came from the factory this way. I removed them because it made it kind of a pain if you needed to get the body off quickly. But on the other hand, with the velcro, you can pretty much run without body pins.

Be careful with that mod you made. You may end up rubbing the paint off the body.

One mod I'd like to do and tinker with is maybe convert one over to 4 stroke. They sound wicked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXk1X...440BB8C06C7E5B

The vid is a Losi 8T converted to 4 stroke just for reference since there is not any Slayers converted.

well there another company that was coming out with a 1/8th scale gas motor that should almost be a direct fit.

Not necessarily "easy". It requires custom fabricated motor mounts, servo linkages since the carb on a 4 stroke is on the rear of the motor, crankshaft and flywheels have to be modded so you can fit a normal truck clutch onto the airplane crank and the flywheel also has to have enough mass to it to keep the 4 cycle running, the whole gearing theory changes with running a 4 cycle. Pretty much you are going from a 2 cycle motor that runs 30,000rpm's + with gobs of top end power, to a 4 cycle aircraft motor that runs 12,000 rpm's tops with loads of low end torque. You pretty much have to gear it too the moon to be able to keep around the same speed you would have with a 2 cycle on lower gearing. The big problem guys have with the 4 cycles in trucks is heat. They run alot hotter. Alot of them run a cooling fan from Kyosho that is belt driven directly from the crankshaft. Also the 4 cycle motors are alot wider and taller than the 2 cycles we run now so that is yet another challenge.

HPI is the company with the 1/8th scale gas motor. I would rather do the 4 cycle conversion though because they have that unique sound. I have enough 2 smokes.

4-strokes are not as powerful and high revving as a two stroke of the same size, but this is a mod I've always wanted to do.

I love that sounds. If you do get a slayer going with a 4 stroke please post pic's.
