what do i need to make my2wd slash run at 50mph and not run hot

Vxl system...3s lipo. Bigger pinion gear.
But it won't run cool. It'll get hotter.

According to the slash vxl product page on traxxas.com, you can get to 50+ mph using 23/86 gearing, 3S/11.1V/5000+ mAh LiPo battery, and skill driving level of 4.

Aluminum gearbox with mamba monster 2200kv. Handles better and the speed is phenomenal. You can't get 50 with vxl without running hot, just won't happen.

You DON'T need the mamba monster 2200 to go 50 mph, but the aluminum gearbox is a good idea to help keep the temperatures down.

Well, to go 50 all day long, you do need a mamba monster, LOL. You might be able to run 50 for about 5 minutes with a vxl. hehe, never had good luck with Velineon and heat.
