Neebie Problems with ESC
Hey a friend set me up with an older slash body with a brushless motor and a velineon vxl-3s ESC... It ran great and they he left the country and I took it out to start and it isn't transmitting at all. If I start it without turning on the transmitter the tires spins out of control (expected) but I know the motor is at least running.
But I can't get it to control the vehicle. I can't program the ESC. It doesn't light up in the proper sequence. I have tried to reset it but that doesn't help. Any ideas or is it time for a new ESC?
Are your batteries good in the transmitter? Do you have the crystals matched if it is an old radio?
Sometimes unplugging the battery will help in doing a reset to reprogram again. Did you accidentally flip the switch from 50/50 to 70/30 by chance?
Thanks Kwitty. It ran fine before and it had been a couple months since I last used it and didn't work. I tried brand new batteries and I had no luck. and it is set to 50/50 Could the crystal's be the problem? Maybe I'll try a different set? It just seemed to be an ESC issue because the light doesn't flash in the correct sequence for programming but it does for the reset. but it doesn't run any other ideas?

sounds like a rx/tx problem. Know anyone with a rx/tx that you could switch out? You could at least eliminate the radio as the problem, and then know for sure if its the esc or not.
