Question New Sky Lipos need charging?

I just received 3 new 2s 40c 5000mah sky lipos with a skycharger. now, i can't test run them since i'm in the process of getting new parts and a new esc/motor for my crippled slash. But, can I balance charge them at all if brand new? I tried one but it took like 6 seconds and that was it, idk what i did wrong if anything, I asumme they're fully charged? I set the correct setting at 5.0A as well.

Little guidance? First time LiPo user, I don't wanna blow anything up.

i volt tested the plug, it was 7.65 for all of them. i'm not sure what each cell might be, how do i figure it out?

Update: Tested the voltmeter to the balancing cable and got a reading of 3.82? is that normal?

    A fully charged 2s is 8.40 v
4.20 v per cell.check the settings on your charger.

    yep. 4.2+4.2=8.4v and 3.7+3.7=7.4v for a 2s

4.2v per cell is charged voltage.
3.85v per cell is storage voltage.
3.7v per cell is the nominal voltage which the battery will plateau at (on a bar graph) when under load.
3.5v-3.2v per cell is the typically accepted Low Voltage Cut off.
3.0v Never run below this as it will harm the lipo.
Never leaved fully charged more than a day or two but place at a storage voltage of 3.85v per cell. If storing for a period of time then check each month.
