Decided to put summit tires on my merv, what are the max motor and ESC temps that i wanna change gearing at, ran the motor to 170 and figured 180 is the limit, gonna try a dif pinion (smaller) but dont really know what baseline temps im looking for.

The ESC has a thermal shutdown and the baseline temp for the motor is any temp below 180F. A motor which gets temps up to 170F is a good reason to gear down.

Drop down about 3 or 4 teeth on the pinion and go from there

How long are u running the MERV for? What batteries did u hit 170?
