    First modifications ive made

Since owning my t maxx I've not had much time to run it and tune it up but I'm working out all the little niggles that will increase play time

I wanted major run time as far as servo power goes. I read that the 1100mah hump pack lasted 1-2 hours which seemed about right. I opted for a hpi 4300mah hump pack from the 1/5 baja. Well worth it I think. May buy a lipo when I swap for my rc drifting.
This ain't no shelf queen. its a basher

I also tend to get the truck very muddy and here in England it rains a lot so I fitted a higher flow water resistant filter

It needs tidying up and organising a bit. Next mods
Will be a pull start as Ez start is more unreliable I find. A more powerful steering servo, new radio gear and new tires.

definately pull start, my 2.5 starts almost first pull tuned well, so much less trouble. Also, resonator... the power difference is incredible!

I upgraded my steering servo to a high-torque digital servo, and I changed over to the Traxxas 3 channel TQi 2.4ghz radio system, so I highly recommend those changes. I also recommend the addition of a good two-chamber resonator. As far as the EZ-Start goes, I find it works a whole lot better if you remove the glow plug wire and use a separate glow plug igniter (mine is LiPo powered).

Removing the glow plug wire was one of the first things I did. Pull start is so much easier. Only one battery to worry about going flat. Plus you don't have to carry a bulky unit around. I think I'll go for an etronix pulse 3 channel. I use that one for my drift car and really like it for the money.

The resonator has 10 percent more speed and 16 percent more torque.

To help out with run time and performance you can toss out reverse and go FOC.

Tbh I really like having reverse. That needs setting up a bit better too as it doesn't always engage/disengage when I flip the switch.

Ordered a new set of wheel/tires. Same 5 spoke split but chevron maxx tires for the ultimate monster truck appearance. A rpm front bumper and a ford f-150 shell. I'll post pictures of it once it's all arrived and fitted. Looking forward to it

Are you thinking about selling the stock maxx tires?

The talons? Sorry dude. Going to keep them for dusty conditions. Going to use the chevrons for mud and sand

Mine had fasttrax on the packaging but there are very similar ones. Almost identical.
It works great, keeps filter almost completely dry and it's not affected performance in a negative way. Winner

Here is my new shell and wheels/tires. I'm pretty pleased with it. It's going to get bashed anyway. Which is a shame as its looking sweet.

Sweet, I'm gunna steal your muffler route..looks like it cuts way down on clean up times. I wonder how it sounds and what it does to engine temps? Notice any difference?

Temps didnt change. Sounds a little more raspy and metallic. Nice noise though and not loud. Had nice clean wheels at the end of it

Idk man you might have wanted to keep the bottom price to the bumper. It really helps protect the lip on the skid

i wouldnt worry about alloy skids just go for the RPM skid plates (they just go over your stock skid plates)

infact RPM all the things. Arms, shock towers, skid plates, bumpers and bumper mounts. I would reccomend the tru-track rear end for a basher, so much easier.

and i like that exhaust extension. nice work =) let us know how that holds up

    Thanks man,
I've had to adjust the exhaust mounting wire to fit better as it wasn't allowing the pipe to be close enough to the header. Had issues with it popping off the header, got a new coupler now so no more problems. I rotated the exhaust so it pointed directly up, blocked off the old nipple hole and moved it further around. Runs great and no mess atall
