    Finally I have one !!!

Well after owning many, many Tamiya rc's over the last 25 years and lusting after a Summit for many months I have finally received one today

I have read and read many many posts and can not wait to take it on its 1st run but I am keen to take things slowly to begin with

I wish to stick with Nimh batteries for now but once confident in using the summit I would like to experiment with lipo to experience longer runtimes

Can somebody kindly recommend a suitable "cost effective" Dual charger that will suit my needs both now and will also future proof my move into lipo

    Many thanks !

Welcome to the Summit family! I joined recently myself, and wanting one for 3+ years (ever since it first came out...)

Sorry, no recommendations on chargers(I have two separate chargers), just saying welcome!

    Welcome to he club!

Take a look at the iCharger line of products. They can push enough amps to parallel charge your packs. It also supports Nimh and lipo so you can grow into it as you move into new packs.

Lots of other good multi chemistry chargers out there too and I'm sure you'll get plenty of input on the forum.

I am also new to the summit, but have been RCin for 15 years now. YES it is as awesome an capable as you think but to answer your question... Your best bet is to by two chargers, I went throu the same predicament and have ordered another of my favorite chargers the thunder ac6. It charges lipo and nihm and has a built in balancer. Very inexpensive and good quality. Hope this helps and congrats on the truck... the thing is wicked.

Dual chargers are way overpriced. Get one high amp charger, (FMA Powerlab, ICharger etc...) then you can do parallel charging. Example: if you get a 30A charger then you could charge 6 2s 5000mAh LiPos at 1C (30A) which would take about one hour. Also, check out ProgressiveRC for good charger/powersupply combo. You can also make your own powersupply. WAY cheaper, and you get (in most cases) more power!
SPC Power - the best there is
