    Stripping wheels?

    I have seen a lot of you members striping your wheels and dying them black. How are all of you doing this? Are you unglueing the tires? If any one could share I would really appreciate it.S

    You could bake them, boil them or acetone to remove the glue. I have had great success with the baking method.

    I did it without removing the tires. Didn't really hurt the glue either...

    Minor Summit Mods...

    A quick search on youtube will probably give you more information on this by now.

    Yup the oven cleaner method seems the cheapest, and easiest and most effective way.

    I just taped around the tire and then scuffed up the chrome a bit with a scotch pad then used some flat black paint 3 coats did
    the trick for me. They have held up quite well to my suprise

    I was most impressed with the Easy-Off method. Patience and a toothbrush so I didn't scratch them.
