Buying a used summit, what do I need to check?

I'm going to go look at a used summit, 1/10 from the pics it looks almost new, he has some extra parts, arms and stuff, what do I need to look into before I buy? What do I really need to inspect??

Haven't had the best luck buying used nitro, and summits aren't that cheap so i don't want to get myself into something that I'm going to have to put a lot of money into, already did that with the nitro, thanks

Look at the cosmetics so see he hard It was ran. Top of the body posts, bottom belly, skid plates, bottom of the a arms, bumpers, and wiring. Oh and look at the tires and wheels. Those are what I look at.

I was thinking of counterpoints to the above, using my own vehicles as examples. Even though my trucks - and especially my Summit - look very used, everything functions perfectly, in an "if my life depended on it" way. The problem I ran into while considering this is that, as pointed out above, I'm not the kind of person who will be selling my vehicle(s). I.e. most vehicles that look like mine AND are for sale will not RUN like mine. I think that's true of many members here.
That said, there are some good deals out there for those who don't need the latest-greatest. Recent offerings by Jersey Crewmax and others come to mind.
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

Check for rust! If you see any rust on it you now that it has been in water, and that it haven't been maintained properly... And that can be a big pain!
