Just keep using the stock plastic ones - they're cheap.

If you get alloy you'll either bend them, or break the attachment point.

The only true fix is to stop doing whatever you're doing that's causing you to flip too much - otherwise learn to live with repairing whatever you break from wrecking so regularly. LOL

my whole merv looks kinda sad because of flips. scratches, the body is wearing out on the top and bad front body posts. ive been looking at the slipstream body by proline. how effective does it cool and does anyone suggest it?

If you are still using body clips, Velcro on the body and battery door might help .
Put a good wheelie bar and some throttle control.
You could also use the throttle expo to take some hit off when you hit the throttle

I also swear by the sway bars on my Merv.

I'm not the best driver, so "kiddie training wheels" like the sway bars are a good thing for me

Like 50 says, Velcro on the battery doors is the best way to go

yup i use velcro. its so handy. its just that i have a mustang body that would fit and the sides arent long enough so i would have 2 use clips for it. ill try the throttle expo next time. when u change the multi-funtion nob it would leave the other settings right? like leaving the steering at 100% expo

Are they still made? I have them on my wishlist for a long time but could never find a source.
Their website dont list them. I think thetoyz had them on their site, but always out of stock and now they vanished there too.

I would love to get some, if anybody know a source with stock please chime in.

You can purchase "sticky-back velcro" from a lot of sources - I tend to get mine from walmart, though I'm sure it can be located in any other bigbox store, and found it in the sewing/crafts section. Comes in individual pieces, or in rolls of various lengths and widths - $5 worth will probably last you a lifetime.

I don't understand what that means.
How many battery doors and bodies do you plan on going through before running through a 9-foot strip of velcro?

I believe he means eventually from wrecks and the battery doors popping off the tabs get worn and you have to replace the battery doors. But those are still really cheap so velcro is the best option IMO

the smallest drill bit i have is 1/16 which is way bigger than the stock hole size, i think it would weaken it
