We ran about 6 passes. The video doesn't do much justice but the funny car was much quick off the line.

Looks like the funny car is more unstable or was it operator error? Both are fast off the line but your right about funny car launching better.
Good race but for proper result you'd have to roll start the xo-1 or who knows what you would destroy lol
The funny car had a 3s 6400
looking good, find your setup and practice, practice, practice
Yeah i completely agree. The funny car is without a doubt more unstable than the XO-1. The race was really just for fun. In order to have a proper race and get real results you would need a much better surface and much more room. Overall I still had a good time racing the two cars.
Looks like it would have been fun hope to see more vids, what size batts were you running in this vid?
I have alot of fun with my XO-1 but its a real blast to sit down with the Funny Car and work on setups and everything else the funny car has to offer. Its a different experience than just doing speed runs. I'm really looking forward to the DTS System
did you warm up the tires, it would add traction to both cars
All I need now is to set a new lap record.
Absolutly, It was just edited out.
for my on notes, what setting were you using on your launch with 3s?
I had a smaller pinion installed running at about 60% torque.
How about a 1/10 E-Revo vs those two? I haven't found an RC that can beat an ERBE on a drag race with stock setup...
He who dies with the most toys wins !!!
but here's the thing, the funny should have wayyy more traction when the tires are hottttt!!!!
All I need now is to set a new lap record.
Being that both cars use the same exact tires on the rear, I would think the added traction of the x01s ft tires would get out of the hole better.
LETS GO PENS!!!!
You would think so but its really not the case. The only reason the funny cay looks unstable is because all most everytime you loose traction the car flips over unlike the XO-1 where the car just spins out. The way the funny car is designed you would spins out and do donuts, You'll just flip over.
The xo1 is set up with torque limiting (5.0) and 0% punch control which is why it is so laggy from a launch. Modify these settings with the castle link and the xo1 becomes an entirely different animal. Cool video though! I drove a 2s setup this weekend and the funny car is definitely a fun car to drive.
E Revo brushless, XO-1, Nitro 4 tec 3.3, HPI RS4
if the funny car and xo-1 was at max performance, this would be a diff. story
All I need now is to set a new lap record.
11 lbs vs 4 lbs has a bunch to do with it as well.
on a prepped track though over the 132' or whatever you chose to run im sure the Xo would rapidly overcome the holeshot of the funny car.
Good example of the launch on the FC though. Looks great.
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
and if the tx of the funny car could be used on the xo-1, the xo-1 will leave the funny car in the dust
All I need now is to set a new lap record.
IF IF IF,,,,, And IF they had the same Power Plant and the settings designed for Funny car things would also be different....
It's not a fair comparison. There's some personal preference from personal experience that fuels this argument, which is pretty futile.
Now to quote the rules....

i dont think this is true. on a prepped track @ 132'' with a good setup and on foam tires. the xo1 would get beat every time!!!! after a 132 is a differ story. i cant forget about driver error.
