    Lipos question!

I have a 3905 emaxx, what traxxas lipos do you guys recommend? Is it plug n play? Or my emaxx doesn't support lipos? Im also buying the evx2 with LVD.
The evx2 w/LVD can run lipos up to 16.8 Volts right?
If I buy traxxas lipos is it plug n play?

    Thanks

If you have the evx2 with lvd just plug in turn it on and away you go.
I assume it's the same Volts as the standard evx2.
Theres a number of lipos to choose from, a quick forum search will show what peoples running,
Or most importantly, Which ones to stay away from.

Brushed motor ? forget about lipos.... It will fry like nothing with lipos output power, unless you are going brushless, i would suggest you to forget about lipos

I run Lipo's on my brushed E-Maxx for a long time with no issues. You will be fine. Make sure to observe temperatures though (just like you need to watch when running NiMH).

I guess your question was not answered yet: What Traxxas LiPo's to use: First and most important: You need a pair of 2s Lipo's. Capacity needs to be be above 4000mAh (thou 5000mAh + is desirable). For the brushed Maxx never mind about the discharge rate. A 20C will do just fine for the brushed E-Maxx. If I had to pick one I would go with this:

There is nothing wrong with running 2S LiPo packs with a brushed motor and it will not "fry" the motor. Long runtimes and excessive heat damages brushed motors.

Yeah you can run Lipos with the titans...no problem. You will get a little more run time on lipo/BL system but for bashing the titan/lipo combo is perfectly fine. Use any lipo within you voltage range you want but since you asked about traxxas lipos anything above 4000mah range.

You can run one 4s lipo if you want (I assume the new LVD EVXs are the same as the old ones??) I do it all the time. Do yourself a favor and buy a infared thermomater (duratrax makes a good one for like $20) and check ur motor temps. 150 is the highest for good life on the titans, and the inside of the motor is always 10 degres higher than the outside that the thermo is reading.

Soon I will post a build thread and show how i vented my body and that droped temps by 20*, so do that if you have temp problems. also gearing like 15/68 or lower will drop temps. Im geared 17/72 and my temps still jump on lipo if the vent clogs.

Thanks man! I was thinking about getting exactly the one you put on the link.
what is the temperature the evx and motors should have?
Also if I buy those Traxxas lipos what charger do you recommend me?
I was looking at the ez peak plus but its too expensive!

if you buy a good charger to start with you won't be needing to upgrade soon. The traxxas charger will last for quite some time, with lipos you can buy again. when funds are available.
I'm not sure if the evx2 with lvd would work using a single 4s, as the detection maybe only checked on the bec side and would let the 4s go way lower than it should.I don't know how it's checked. You'd have to check with one of the forum mods, They will let you know.

    ^that

I just use a LVA. Then you dont have to worry about throttle death at critical points (I had a radio cut throttle when i was climbing a river bank and it caused my Maxx to flip backwards and upside down in about 2 feet of muddy river water)

Yup, 2x 2s lipo will be fine, just watch temps the first few runs to make sure the added current available (but not nessacerarly used) is not overheating anything.
