    Emaxx diffs

Well I converted my tmaxx to a emaxx but I keep blowing out the rear Diffs. Can you use all the parts out of a new emaxx diff and just put it in the old housing

Can't say for sure abut internals fitting in the old case, but the new (complete) emaxx diff will fit right in the place of the old one.

The new 4 screw style diff will work great the drive output shafts seem a tiny bit shorter wich makes the grub screws hard to get it but I have not stripped a pinion since I upgraded. I have only broke the cup screws since

what parts are you swapping over? It seems strange to just swap the complete internals (including ring gear, diff carrier, spider gears,I-bar) over to the old housing.

I just have 2 extra diff housings that are off a 2.5 tmaxx. It seems like everytime I play with it it would snap drive lines in the first 5min. Then I put MIPS front and rear and now it kills diffs

Is that the old 2screw diff housings, The 4screw version give less flex.
I bought some new diffs from a new tmaxx with the 4 black hex screws,I have noticed there is the 4 steel screw housings too.
Then i bought the I-bar and diff carrier and going to swap them over tonight/tomorrow with some lovely 500K lube.
I don't know if the different 4screw versions are the same but the black screws seem to have quite thick material.

There is a difference in the internals = pitch and mesh of gets in the 2.5 & 3.3 t-Maxx there are also differences between the brushed and brushless version with the 3908 diffs being the strongest of all... If you want to thorough about it you can shim all the play out if the diff. If your ... you may want to upgrade your pinion bearing... But by any means, if you are creating enough power to break the diffs you should probably UPGRADE them. Especially since they are a pain to get to.

There is no difference between the 3903, 3905 and 3908 diffs. They are exactly the same and all have internal bracing.

OldBlue, You "might" be able to bolt a newer E Maxx diff assembly into the T Maxx. They bolted into my 3906.

I was on eBay looking at parts an found some new tmaxx 3.3 differntials. Are they the same or should I look for Differentials that came out of a emaxx

I think the only difference is the internal brace. If you have extreme power then it might be worth getting the newer E Maxx diffs but the 3.3 should be fine for 4s or NiMH.
Do you have a 3906 and BL power?

With brushed power you'll be fine with the 3.3. Funny how much cheaper the T Maxx diffs are vs the E Maxx. Sorry, forgot you said it was a T Maxx

You'll love it! I have the Hobbywing SC8 ESC and it's one of the best I've used. Did you get the EZRun version 2?

Also found out that the 3.3 diffs are Revo spec and I don't know if the 4910's are. The difference should be the 3.3 is sealed and adjustable with different weight diff oil. If the 4910 diffs aren't sealed you can still use thick silicone grease to make it a pos-i-trac but the thinner oils won't stay in without seals. Heck, even with seals the oil lube finds it way out .

I blow diffs in my Erevo all the time...I am getting a bit fed up of having to open the diffs every 3 to 4 runs. I came across this thread about shimming diffs, it may be useful to you guys. I am waiting for my new diff gears to come and will try this. A tighter gear mesh will = longer life of the diff. Brushless power...you got to love it.

I just put the brushless insides in mine, New carrier and I-bar. With some super thick 500K lube only done the rear, going for 300K for front.

Shimming diffs is a big +++. My new 3903 diffs didn't need shimming. They were tight but I can't say the same for my old 3906 diffs. I bought four screw diff housings, shimmed and o-ring sealed the old diffs but the power was too much and I blew a rear. Replaced it with the newer style diff and it's holding up great.

trax de max, if you find the truck pushes in a corner try switching the oil weights. 500k in front and 300k in the rear should help pull the truck around the turn much better. You'll notice the difference more if you get it on a track vs bashing around.

I've been eyeing that Toro SC120 for my SCT. I found the combo for $99.90 and that's a deal. The thing is my truck doesn't really need it, but I want it.....you know how that is .

Dry here too, trax de max. But I have a garden hose and dirt in the backyard

I have the toro short course motor and esc the 4000 kv and it works great. I like how you get a programming card. On a 3 cell it's crazy you will need a wheelie bar

Just saw a review on it and it looks nice. Looks like a SC8 HobbyWing ESC and the specs look the same. They were saying the motors front bearing is bigger than the TenShock 401 which is a very nice motor.

Is it smooth with little or no cog?
