    proline badlands 2.8
    sway bars
20 or 25 wt silicone oil
Blue spring on the rear / gold on the front

Here are the basics. You just have to adjust the top and bottom shocks fixing points according to your feeling or the way you're driving.

After this, off road bashing is "hurting" more your jato, so you'll see when some parts will break, what to reinforce (CVD dogbones, GTR shocks, Steel transmission, arms, bumpers,...)

In any case, proline badlands 2.8 are a must for offroad.

    Wish you good bash

RPM is perfect for arms. T-bone racing is perfect for bumpers/wheely bar (this front bumpers permit to instal the front sway bar, it is very nice).

I have found out that the stock parts work fine for speed .. as far as bashing a jato , I haven't done. Except for running it into a mailbox.. once or twice, LOL.. I'f you decide to put RPM arms on a jato , and decide to hit something, be prepared to buy frames, steering rods, servos, and so on..

wrap all mailboxes in bubble wrap, it works and will protect your car

I disagree with you. With RPM parts, as it can be bent without breaking, the hit is not impacting parts around the RPM part.
I already tested big hit on the front, knowing I have RPM arms + RPM rustler caster blocks: except the poor traxxas pins in the caster blocks that have been bent by 30°, nothing had broken! I've changed the traxxas pins with lunsford's one and now it is perfect.

The only hopups I have on my jato for offroading are these:

Proline Dirt Hawgs in the rear (anaconda stock fronts work fine in the dirt/sand for me)
    RPM front and rear arms
Screws from my Tamiya Frog (the hex screws that are stock are skinny any strip too easily)

Thats it for upgrades. It works perfect offroad for me. No sways, but i DO have the upgraded chassis on its way from horizonhobbies =)
