the 2018 is not only weaker but its slower too when you want to turn, i had a 2018, 2055, cs 70, 2075 and by far the quickest is the 2075 so far out of those 4, now power wise the cs70 i have is more than the 2075 but i dont need much power when it comes to the nitro pede due to how light it is already so i put the 2075 for steering and works great. i would perfer it to be metal geared for the bumps and curbs i hit but i got extra gears for it from a 2018, 2055's and i say those gears match up nicely.

Ok I have a 2070 but how do I get this one open. Is it likely that the inside gears are stripped?

BTW click the pic to watch the video

to get it open atleast take the top cover off, you'll want to take out the 4 screws on the bottom of the servo. loosen those and then the top cap mounting tab part will be able to pull off, i wouldnt take anything else out like the curcuit board stuff, all you need is the gears. make sure when you take it off you see how the pins, gears are put inside ok, sometimes a few gears will come loose when the cover is taken off.

wont play vid for me its just a pic.

I would first check to make sure yo have your trim set to 0 and make sure the servo saver/horn is centered correctly... Also try testing the linkages by hand to see if there is any binding....

In other words determine what is good to determine what is bad...
