Big block conversion not as planned

    What am i doing wrong?

I installed the MMP with 5700 KV motor! (this is the 4 pole motor)

    I have it geared 31 50

    I have beadlock wheels

I put two 3S traxxas batteries in parallel

The thing is slower than before...... it appears to be as fast as running single NIMH

I thought this was suppose to make it a rocket....

    Any advise?

Maybe i need to d something to ESC with the programming card to make it move faster?

Clutch should be very tight. With all the power from the BB, I didnt tighten it all the way and smoked the clutch in 30 seconds. Give it like 50% throttle read fast with the lid off and listen for a zipping or hissing sound. If you hear that your clutch is slipping. I have mine about 90% tight.

On 3S? Which 3S in that case.

I will do the clutch now and report back

2 x Traxxas 1400 3S 25C give you 70A which is 777W and probably more because the Traxxas Lipos seem to be underrated. That will be more than enough to make it quite faster than the stock set. **** tech batteries are not bad at all, but I highly doubt that they meet their specs.

I agree about the clutch setting that might help.

So that is 3 mph more with a battery that can do 146A instead of 66A?

wwent out and the thing still feels slow.

    Also, no backflips.

With the original motor and 3 s easy backflips.

Did you have to swap 2 motor wires to make the car run in the right direction? If that is not the case and you reversed the direction with the software, you might be running the reverse amount of power. You should notice that when the car goes way faster backwards.

Slipper tight now but first took it apart and looked ok, still has life on it.

    Ahhhh

What i did was reverse the direction in the remote control menue settings. followed traxxas guide.

Am i suppose to swap 2 motor wires instead? :-) Which ones ?

Doesnt matter which ones you swap with a brushless motor, either two of the three will do.

One other thought: Maybe check for a cold solder joint. If one of your wires get exceptional hot, you might have a cold solder there. Had that problem once, car would run, but very slow and heat up fast.

I hope it's solved. Not a bad idea to check the settings of the MMP with the Castle Link software.

I'd say big hands Don't be too scared when tightening the wheel nuts. If they start to bind, you went too far. Blue Loctite will help tho.

    put some loctite on it.

I had emailed proline and they said not to overtighten and that i should be fine. I made it pretty tight but it got loose.

I was throttling and braking in the air so that might have made it easier for nuts to loosen.

Will test the car in the next hour

Ok, it is very fast now.

Dog barking and distracting me as a drove in a narrow road... lost control and bang into a car tire.

    Damage: bent traxxas dive shaft.

Can it be straightened or will i need to get a full set again?

FYI, the Traxxas CVDs are rebuildable. You can get alle parts separately.
The dogbones are part TRA 7153, they cost about $10 for one piece.

Destroyed a few myself.. They can bend during side impacts when jammed into the drivecups.
