    Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share. I just rebuilt the 2.5r engine, and broke it in. I am now tuning for speed. The thing is soo fast I can't keep the front end down and the rear wheels are bald, but I have such low temps I can't believe it. I am only getting to around 150 degrees. I've had many different engines including different traxxas engines but never this performance with such low temps!! Any ideas why?

You have a Magic Engine. Congratulations

It'll depend on a variety of things. Fuel %, temperature, humidity, how hard you run it, ventilation through the body etc.
A lot of small things play a huge role. Personally, I keep it in the 220-270 range. That's my optimum range.

I always run sidewinder 30%, I did run without body. Ran it real hard. It was around 75 degrees out. I must have the magic touch!! Just kidding!! I have 11 r/c cars never experienced this. Maybe I should rebuild them all. Come to think of it, this engine and piston and sleeve are from a guy who writes for r/c magazine, could have been modded! I also have an xtm xlb from him that is modded!! I just got the parts to finish it. Hope I have the same results. On the engine there is rb mods etched into the metal on the xtm!!!

I've heard good things about RB mods. It sounds like the stuff came from a good owner. I'm glad to here your having a blast with the 2.5R. My only thought to add to the low temp, maybe it still needs some breaking in? Keep an eye on the temp for the next few tanks and see if she runs warmer. If its a little rich, but running reliable and you having fun, just run it. You will have to tune it soon enough anyway. It sounds like one of those "if it ant broke, don't fit it" problems lol. I'd just watch the temp. Good luck

Thanks everyone!! I think I'm having more fun with this one speed than my 3-speed menaces!! But of course the menaces stay planted and don't wheelie!! I love the wheelies!!

I know the feeling but in my case, rarely anything goes over looked. I'm always checking how everything is "Mechanically Sound". However...there have been a few times when something went un-noticed like a bent suspension pin or a cracked suspension arm, broken shock tower...etc.
